We stayed with Meyske and her family for 5 nights and really fell in love with their home and the area! The homestay is so cozy and the dinner together, which was by far the best meal during our 5 weeks in Sulawesi, had such a nice and homely atmosphere. There is a lot to explore in the area and Meyske gave us lots of tips for day trips, but if you really want to understand the culture better you should definitely book a tour with her, the experiences were incredible!

From the moment we stepped into the vicinity until we said goodbye 4 days later, every moment felt safe, rich, authentic and easy. Meyske, the fiercely intelligent proprietor and guide, welcomes you into her beautiful generational family home and Tongkonans. The place is clean, neat and decorated with heart. Every meal was immaculately presented and cooked deliciously. We didn't eat out much! The rooms are basic but comfortable and clean! As a professionally certified guide, Meyske starts each tour with intention and rich context, bringing us through history with so much pride. We really appreciated the stimulating four days with Ne' Pakku Manja. Thank you Meyske for the unforgettable experience! Highly recommended!

If you want to visit Tana Toraja in an authentic way, by staying in a magnificent Tongkenan village on the heights of the city, Ne Pakku Manja is THE place: the Meyske homestay is carefully decorated to make it a warm cocoon. The rooms are comfortable and have mosquito nets, remember to bring earplugs because the homestay is located in the countryside and the chickens are having fun. The breakfast prepared by Meyske or his mother was different every morning and each time excellent, plentiful and of high quality. The bathroom is modern and very practical. Meyske shares with passion and great sensitivity a wealth of information about his culture which makes our trip to Toraja country a great success!

A very special place:The Ne Pakku Manja HomestayOk, the journey is not entirely easy and you should plan at least an 8 hour drive for the 300km distance from Makassar by car. It is also possible to take a direct flight to Rantepao or Palopo (from there it is 2 hours by car).We found Meyske via the Internet. The photos of her homestay immediately spoke to us. Communication in advance with WhatsApp in English was quick and problem-free. Meyske put together a great package for us with a driver and her as a tour guide.Meyske and her mother have created a very special place: it is picturesquely located in the middle of the impressive tonkonats (typical houses in Toraja) - a great view from the balcony! The homestay is incredibly lovingly furnished with many personal details. A cozy common room with various seating options, a modern bathroom with an outdoor shower and a total of 4 rooms with double beds. The breakfast is to die for! Every day there is something different. 😋 Tea, water and coffee are available for free. And the WiFi is great! You definitely shouldn't miss the cooking skills of Meyske and her mother! Be sure to order dinner too. Every dinner was a poem!!We booked Meyske as a guide for two days. It was wonderful! She explained her culture to us and our children so sensitively. ❤️ You can tell straight away that she loves her job and she has a mission: to bring us closer to her culture and history.Thank you, dear Meyske, for everything!!You're doing wonderfully. Keep this joy 😌 as good for you and your family!Best regardsStefan and Karin

Tana Toraja is a beautiful place, it is important to make sure you see it with the right guide to understand it better. Meyske is unique, very well prepared, she builds authentic itineraries, outside the most tourist circuits, preparing a route for her guests and she does it in the correct way, with great respect for people and traditions. The homestay is very welcoming, the food really excellent.

Unforgettable stay at Meyske! The communication before arrival, the welcome, the meals, the environment, everything was perfect! We feel good there, it’s a pleasure to return there after a day of discovering the magnificent Tana Toraja. We opted for a French-speaking guide, but Meyske gave us even more information about his culture the evening after our return, while chatting on the balcony or around the meal. We feel the life of sharing, it allowed us to discover this beautiful region even better.
