We stayed there with the family for 9 days, from February 1st to February 10th, 2024. At first, life seemed quite wild. The bungalows located by the sea are cooler than those on land - the wind cools them. Freshwater is only for drinking, and electricity is available from evening until morning. There are three meals a day. Lunches and dinners are very tasty. The climate is very humid, and it would be good to have soap or some other detergent for laundry. It is possible to order laundry service on-site, but drying clothes in the humid climate is difficult if the sun is not shining. Items that are brought along quickly become damp due to moisture and can mold if not dried in the sun since air conditioning is not available. We didn't encounter any rats. The weather is very good. Occasionally, there may be brief rain showers, but usually, they don't last long, and soon the sun shines again. I recommend taking a walk to the viewpoint - it's very beautiful. The availability of diving equipment on-site is limited. I couldn't find a suitable-sized BCD, so I stuck to snorkeling. Snorkelers can join some diving trips for a moderate fee. There is a beautiful and long coral reef right by the beach, with many different corals and fish. Snorkeling reveals various corals, unicorn fish, clownfish, sharks, and turtles. I had to fight a triggerfish once, but most of them were calm and didn't attack snorkelers. I also saw manta rays while snorkeling, from a distance of about a couple of meters, close enough to feel a slight fear. Actually, I saw quite a lot while snorkeling, and I didn't miss diving much. Since more serious fish are seen more often during currents, beginner divers may have problems diving during currents. The family hosting us is very kind and cheerful. The local guide is competent and can definitely guide enthusiasts. The nearest first aid point is located on Waisai Island. Local pharmacies there may not be well-equipped. First aid supplies (bandages, antiseptics, necessary medications) should be brought along. Telkomsel internet card worked on-site, but the coverage was sometimes quite poor. Being on Kri Island, you will realize within a couple of days what is truly necessary for life and what is not - I recommend all snorkeling and diving enthusiasts to visit this place. You will also meet other nice people from different nationalities, with whom it's pleasant to share experiences around the dinner table and participate in various trips together. My regards and warm greetings to Dany and his lovely family!
