We will never forget the wonderful sunsets on the jetty of the Jade guesthouse! The coral reef is stunning and you can see a myriad of fish and turtles just by sitting and watching. The rooms are simple, but clean and Lia and Lee are truly hospitable hosts. They organize transport and excursions of all kinds and have scooters available. The dinners prepared by Lia are truly delicious. We highly recommend staying at least 4/5 days to enjoy this wonderful place as much as possible!

jade homestay is located on a clif with the view over the house jetty. there are plenty of huge turtels visible already from the jetty. the coral garden is in my top 3 what i ever saw... and i travelled a lot !the rooms are clean and on demand she cooks an extraordinary diner.. realy excellent taste!this place is a great option to stay for an affordable price on the island.take room 1 or 2 if you want to catch the wifi of the reception!internet is shaky on the island ( august2024). better buy a telekomsim sim card and register it before you leave berau!her husband speaks a good french and offers excursions to the neighbour islands with his boat

We had a lovely stay at Jade homestay July 2024. Lia and Ly are very welcoming and helpful, and make you feel at home. The snorkelling at the homestay is the best we found on maratua (so many turtles!). Lia’s food was delicious and she really helped us plan our travel to and from the island. Ly offers cheap boat trips to all the sites, we really enjoyed our trip with him to see whale sharks and snorkelling on Kakaban island. We went as a couple and there were a handful of other travellers staying there at the same time. Would definitely recommend this stay!

Real gem of a place , run by a wife and husband who speak good English . They are very helpful and can arrange a scooter or tours if you need . They will also arrange the local ferry ticket over and collect you from the harbour.The internet is very sporadic on the island hence why it takes awhile for a reply .Clean basic rooms at a very reasonable price. This place is away from the main village so you need a scooter but that is what makes it so special. The pier has to be the best on the island ( unless you are staying at a very expensive resort ) . It is absolutely amazing to walk and lie on it and watch the underwater world below unfold. The water is so clear and the house reef here is pretty well preserved . Turtles can be seen and especially special are the lion fish that congregate at the end of the pier as the sun goes down and can be seen trying to eat the fish.Thank you for a wonderful memorable stay .Highly recommended.

Highly recommended for travelers on a budget/budget trip.Cheap accommodation, there is bread that can be eaten at any time, the room facilities are complete and clean. The receptionist was helpful, very kind and even able to request a dinner menu. 🤤There is a nice and clean pier so you can visit it at any time. Renting snorkeling equipment, fishing rods, motorbikes, speedboat trips are all available and the prices are cheap. ❤️🥰

After spending over a month and a half in Indonesia, we landed at Jade Homestay to finish this incredible country. And we can tell you that this was our favorite in Indonesia, whether it was the hosts who were incredibly kind or the setting that made you dream. Without forgetting that we ate very well and to our hunger.So we recommend them to you +++

We had a great stay at Jade Homestay. Ly and Lia are an adorable and available couple (helping us organize our arrival and departure on the island and also giving very good advice on how to enjoy our stay).Dinner is excellent!The view is incredible, there are dozens of turtles. You can rent scooters directly from them as well as snorkeling equipment.Thank you again for this stay.
