Ketut and his his lovely staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Private Pool Villa (with the upstairs bedroom) and it was perfect. Very comfortable and clean. We appreciated the water filter a lot actually. Helped is to avoid buying too much bottled water and allowed us to reuse plastic bottles we already had. Also good for brushing teeth etc.The pool was cool and refreshing, in shade in the morning and evening. A small challenge to get in but perfect once you're in. Perfect way to start or finish your day.The grounds around the villas are beautiful and traditional like many places in rural Bali/Ubud. Could have done without the regular rooster calls but again this just seems to be part of life in rural Bali and it wasn't something that bothered us much. The included breakfast was light and tasty and we didn't get tired of the somewhat limited choice even after four days. We tried the floating breakfast in the pool twice and enjoyed it a lot.The main sliding door did have a small gap which allowed small lizards to come in on one or two occasions (in four days).Totally harmless but my wife was a little frightened until I could shoo it out using a brush. No harm done. Didn't affect our stay but worth considering if you're very sensitive to that. Though I suspect this is a feature of almost all villas in Bali.As others have said it's definitely not within walking distance but it's so cheap and convenient to get a taxi using Gojek or Grab anywhere you need to go that it's actually nice to be in a lovely villa outside of the busy centre. Just allow 15-30 minutes (at most) during peak hours to find a driver. We really enjoyed staying at Ubud Mesari!

Fantastic studio apartment! We had gotten a room but it ended up being a room with a private courtyard, pool, kitchen and drinks. …

Super friendly people and great service. We ordered food from the host several times as we were too tired to go out. The house staff was always friendly and forthcoming every day.The location is nice too. It's close to Ubud center. Not walking-distance though, so you definitely need a ride. It's also far enough away from the center for the place to be very quiet, especially during the night. We used GoJek to get from the villa to the center and back. The only thing we did not like was the bathroom of our room. There was a strong smell, probably from the drainage, that made us keep the door to the bathroom closed. We were overall happy with our stay. But given the price per night we would like to see a bathroom in better condition.

So we couldn't understand the extremely good reviews. The villa itself is beautiful but also a bit old. There are a few unsightly stains or even pulled out sockets. But the villa itself was beautiful. We didn't see anything of the much praised Ketut in 4 days.We were asked the day before when we would arrive and when we got there the villa was still occupied. They could have told us that and we would have simply arrived later. But we were also there before the specified check-in time.It wasn't cleaned once in 4 days. No fresh towels or bed linen. Toilet paper was then available upon request.WiFi didn't work for 2 days. The location is both a blessing and a curse. If you want some peace and quiet, this is the right place and getting to the center by scooter is no problem. We liked the location. We were visited twice by monkeys, which is quite funny as long as they keep their distance.Breakfast was so-so but there was the option of a floating breakfast (free of charge)The employees you saw were very friendly.

Beautiful villa! It’s off the beaten path but once you enter the room, you’ll love it. Huge bathroom, beautiful room, nice pool and outdoor area. Shower was huge and great - very hot water and good pressure. Also a separate tub. …

This beautiful oasis is located outside of Ubud proper, so you will need a car or scooter to access, as there's nothing available within walking distance. Overall however, absolutely stunning! NOTE: The entrance to the hotel looks like just a small covered parking area, with a hidden walkway in the back. A little hard to find. The service was impeccable, and the owner very responsive via WhatsApp. The rooms were tidied daily, and breakfast was included in the price. Two notes to mention - one, I ordered dinner one night, and the food was okay, but not great. Breakfast however was delicious every day!! Two, this place is located in the jungle, and there will be bugs/geckos in your room. I didn't mind, as I've been travelling around Bali for a few weeks and was used to it, but there were definitely visitors in my room and bathroom the entire time. Gecko waste found on clothes and bags that were left out of closets, and I had to fight off a huntsman spider and a waterbug in the bathroom before showering while there 😂Overall tho, the place is fantastic (the pool was so refreshing during the hot part of the day!) and the location isolated, but comfortable. Service friendly and amazing. Highly recommended!

Good things- Excellent room service, too good host(always smiling and ready to help),good food and lovely property. You will hear the birds chirp every morning!!!Things I didn’t like- Awkward location(too far from main area), Dont expect it to be a formal hotel,it is like a airbnb with 4 properties side by side in same location, lighting in the room could be better (feels dark entire time)

Totally a wonderful stay. Super friendly and helpful host with truly authentic Balinese hospitality. Secluded location but need only 15 mins of scooter ride to reach downtown of buzzing Ubud Central. Host really attention to each details of our stay, from transport, living room, kitchen details, breakfast, spacious room and bathroom, outdoor shower, and the private pool really in good maintenance. Can’t have any complaint about our stay, but if I may suggest to add fan in the lounge area. This place is truly a hidden gem, traditional with luxurious touch of home away from home.

Excellent experience staying in one of the villas in Ubud Mesari. The only thing I would say that is missing is the location. It is quite far from ubud market but also in a quieter location. We rented a scooter from the hotel for 100K IDR and it was a 15 mins. ride to ubud market and nearby attractions. However the road is not easy to ride the scooter especially if you are two people on the scooter.Staff was extremely helpful and cooperative.Overall good value for money and I would rate them 4.9 stars out of 5Staff - 5Breakfast - 4.9Rooms - 5Swimming pool - 5Cleanliness - 5Location - 4.5Washrooms - 4.9 (only shower, no bath tub)
