We recently stayed at the beautiful Shell House and we couldn't rate it higher if we tried. This place is absolutely incredible. The view from the pool on the top of the roof is like something from a movie! Every detail is perfection. On top of that, the place is completely spotless (which is unusual in a bamboo property). We also really enjoyed the food and drinks on offer, especially the chicken black pepper. This place is perfect for couples who want an intimate, romantic getaway on the beautiful island of Nusa Penida. As for the previous review about the mosque call to prayer, please ignore it. The mosque is actually down at sea level and the villas are up on the hill. There is nothing the property can do about the sound of a call to prayer. If you are on holiday in Indonesia, you are bound to hear a mosque as the country is 90% islamic. This did not bother us in the slightest and this shouldn't impact your opinion on this beautiful place - we slept like babies! Overall, 10/10 and cannot wait to come back for our next trip!! ❤️

The property is visually stunning and offers high-end amenities, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet our expectations. What wasn’t disclosed at the time of booking is that the property is located right next to a mosque, and the calls to prayer, which start very early in the morning, are extremely loud due to the lack of sound insulation in the cabins. Since there are no proper walls or soundproof windows, it’s impossible to get a good night’s sleep. After a sleepless night, we requested compensation to change hotels, but the staff was unable to accommodate our request. This is really disappointing for such a premium establishment.
