The staff were extremely friendly, the spa treatments were amazing, the food was fresh and so healthy and delicious. The bed was super comfortable and overall our two week stay there, which actually was extended for another 4 days. The overall feel at Floating Leaf was so relaxing and peaceful and exactly what we needed.

Beautiful place with amazing staff. You could hear the traffic while in the upstairs 'yoga' space but after a while, you got used to it and it didn't bother me. I would suggest upgrading the sound system. Other than that, the place was awesome.

We were greatly reassured by the photographs of Floating Leaf on their website and on Trip Advisor which show it surrounded by uninterrupted farm land and just a short distance to the beach. There were numerous references to it being "tranquil". We booked a yoga retreat in keen anticipation. We were shocked on arrival to find that the image of the idyllic location had clearly been photoshopped. The website was misleading to the point of being fraudulent. In fact, the main road that runs up the east coast of Bali is about 200 metres away to the south, and the arterial road that provides the main access to nearby Sukawati runs along the northern side of the resort, some 150m away, before turning left and running right past the main gate of the resort. The traffic noise was constant. Check a satellite image before deciding to stay here (I wish we had!). To get anywhere near a beach you would need to walk the busy arterial road before crossing a major highway.Sukawati, described on their site as a "traditional Balinese village" is a large and busy residential area with a number of other tourist destinations within its boundaries. As a consequence, the traffic is unrelenting and continues through the night. Traffic in Bali is nuts. People routinely sound horns to indicate their desire to pass and rented motorbikes being over-revved are ubiquitous. Trucks are the only form of freight transport and there do not appear to be any emission controls on vehicles, so in addition to noise there was the constant smell of vehicle fumes. And sirens. Lots of sirens. Our discomfort was compounded by the nest of rats above our heads in our bedroom, with accompanying urine stains seeping through the ceiling. They woke at sunrise for their morning rat party with lots of running and squealing. We didn't get much sleep and the yoga sessions were impossible to hear.We cut our stay short. We were offered a move to another resort but explained that the whole point of the stay was the yoga, and we couldn't hear the instructors over the road noise. Management waived the bill for two massages, two meals and some drinks. They have refused to refund our accommodation costs, referring us to their terms and conditions. We responded that their website was fraudulent and we were therefore deserving of a refund.I've included a screen shot from their website (removed after we complained) and a satellite photo for comparison. As you can see, the resort has been seriously misrepresented. This place falls well short of "luxury" and you are warned not to drink the water coming out of the taps or the shower and not to clean your teeth with it. It's at least 10 years old and showing signs of wear and tear. They have made some decent efforts towards "eco". The staff are lovely.

We don't like traffic noise. We are not just being precious. My husband and I both live with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (I'm ex police and he is ex volunteer fire fighter) and sirens in particular can trigger flashbacks, so we research …

Beautiful oasis. This place is like stepping into another world - away from the noise and bustle outside. The food was amazing and the massages were too. All of the staff were so lovely and couldn't do enough for you! The yoga space was absolutely gorgeous. The only downside was the outside noise that sometimes floated up.
