This place was such a find, from the location, the design and deco, weather and most importantly company, its like no other on the mythical island of Bali. Situated not far north from the popular cultural town of Ubud in central Bali, Royal's place is so far off the beaten path that right after entering the unassuming door, you would feel like you have transcended into a different sanctuary of peace and tranquility.Adding to the well groomed landscape dotted with a myriad of tropical and temperate botanical touches, Royal has also given this place his touch of antiquity with his vast collection. This combination gives a hint of spookiness and a large dose of mythical so synonymous with Bali. The temperate climate in the teens provides a very comfortable backdrop to relax in a book or just soak in the surroundings with hot cuppa.Completing this gem of a package was the hospitality of Royal and his team, treating my party like Royalty, and making us feel right at home.I will recommend having a driver booked for your entire trip here or self drive. The journey will take about 2.5 hours from Denpasar airport or around 40 minutes from Ubud, though what a journey it was. I will be back.

We had the best time at the stunning Puri Naga Toya! The interior was beautifully curated and complemented the architecture - and not to mention the view. The view is world class, overlooking the Ayung river and Bedugul. The food was amazing and the service was as you’d expect at a 5 star hotel 👍🏼

If you are looking for the old Bali with a touch of class and charm, Puri Naga Toya is the perfect place! The views of the mountains and glimpses of the river are breathtakingly stunning. Each of the four bedrooms are individually decorated with exotic and amazing pieces of furniture and artwork collected by the owners in their worldwide travels. The gardens, the spring water pool plus the koi pond are gorgeous and well thought out. The combination of crisp clean air, spring water for drinking, bathing and swimming plus caring staff promotes total relaxation and serenity for anyone lucky enough to stay at this beautiful retreat!
