I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been to Thailand, but this visit to the Golden Mango House in Sam Roi Yot truly stood out—it was like finding a second home! This hidden gem, away from the bustling city of Bangkok and the crowded tourist hotspots of the islands, offers everything you need for a perfectly relaxed getaway. Imagine a peaceful stretch of beach, mouthwatering local cuisine, traditional Thai massages, stand up paddleboarding, Muay Thai, a vibrant weekend market, and most importantly, the warm embrace of the Golden Mango House, hosted by the nicest people you’ll ever meet. The rooms here are immaculate and spacious, fully equipped like a cozy studio apartment. I was particularly charmed by their TV/bar room on the second floor, where you’ll find a coffee machine that never seems to run out of fresh brews, thanks to the attentive owners. And their gym? It’s a fitness enthusiast’s dream come true! From a Smith machine to barbells, dumbbells, weight plates, and a bench, it’s got everything you need for a complete workout. Honestly, this place could double as the perfect fitness training camp! Picture this: cycling or running along the serene 6km beach, open-water swimming in the sea, stand-up paddling to nearby islands, and strength training at the Mango House gym. And don’t forget the nearby Muay Thai gym!One of the highlights of my stay was joining their stand-up paddle session to explore the nearby islands—an experience that left me absolutely breathless! The coaches are seasoned experts, the same folks behind the renowned Borneo Paddle Monkeys in Sabah, so you’re in excellent hands.Make sure to grab one of their bicycles to explore the charming area and beach. The neighborhood is as cozy and welcoming as the Golden Mango House itself.
