The Cranes' Home is the perfect place to stay for people who want to get out of the tourist areas of Hanoi, stay in a more authentic, Vietnamese neighborhood, sleep in a comfortable bed, and have a very upscale experience, as well.Even though things were very noisy only a block away, my room was very quiet because the buildings blocked the noise.After staying here for four weeks, I can say I was very sad to leave. Tung was always quick to reply to my texts and often available for an in-person chat. His English is excellent, so it was easy to communicate.Having the cafe on the roof and the tea house in the basement was a very nice convenience. As you can see from the pictures, they're both very upscale, especially the tea house!There are bus stops within a five minute walk and it's easy to get a Grab (like Uber; the #1 ride-sharing company in Southeast Asia). The surrounding area also has plenty of cafes and diverse places to eat - cheap or expensive Vietnamese restaurants, pizza, as well as high end western food.The Cranes' Home also offers high quality laundry service for a very low cost - 5,000 Dong/kilogram ($0.22).The gym is only a 1-minute walk away. I believe it was 450,000 Dong ($19.44) for a month. You might be able to find another gym nearby that's cheaper.Since the wifi router was right outside my room, the signal was strong (35mb/s download; 35 up). In fact, I could also get the wifi from the floors above and below my room.Honestly, I don't think anything could've been any better. I was very impressed and I think you will be, too!
