Stayed here a number of years ago. And from what I could recall I was having a nice time and then the day before we left the cleaning staff came and robbed us of all the cash we had on hand.Reported it to management and were basically talked out of doing anything about it as it would apparently "require reporting it to the police". As if I was going to have any problem with that... But would've been an issue for them apparently so they wanted nothing done... Or perhaps they were in on it!?In the end all they offered as compensation was a boat ride out of there. Perfect hassle, it just ruined our time.

The bungalows are charming, in the middle of a tropical garden with many plants, flowers, birds, etc. Air-conditioned bungalows nicely decorated, some with a really pleasant outdoor shower.Be careful to close the doors, the monkeys are very numerous and do not hesitate to visit the bungalows.The resort is located near Railay EAST beach which is not suitable for swimming, it will take a few minutes on foot to reach the sumptuous Railay WEST beach.

Would you like to go down as well?The room is also a mosquito paradise. Even if you open the door, it is a mosquito paradise.. Wi-Fi does not work.. Even if you ask the reception, they pretend not to hear you..Still, if you go, I'll admit it.. Now the name has changed to Sea Sand Resort.. If you need to donate blood, please visit.

Most important thing -Sand sea resort handles Sunrise tropical resort also. So you can checkin at Sand sea resort reception at the west coast, the buggy will take your luggage and you to the sunrise tropical resort through their property.Sunrise tropical resort is on the east coast of Railay. Quick difference between east and west coast -West coast -1. Has a beautiful beach where everyone chills. 2-3 resorts have entrance from here.2. the ferry from Aao nang will drop you here if you’re landing at Krabi airport.3. This beach has activities like kayaking etcEast coast -1. not a beach, but a muddy lagoon.2. All island tour pick ups are from this coast and your pick up would be last in a group if you stay at the east coast. So you can sleep till late on the day of your tour. It’s a plus point.3. Is closer to some grocery shops etcThe distance between both the coasts is barely a 5-10mins walk.Food -1. The breakfast buffet spread was great with more than 20 varieties of food, beverages, deserts and live omelette counter.2. but it’s at the sand sea restaurant which is 5-10mins walking distance from Sunrise tropical resort. Both the properties are connected.3. The restaurant is on the beach, hence I LOVED the view while having breakfast.Service -1. I wasn’t quite happy with the service because the staff is mostly busy catering to guests at the sand sea resort, hence the east part of the resort is a little neglected.2. However, they Cleaned up the room really well.3. The staff at the breakfast restaurant was really helpful and courteous tooRoom -1. We stayed at the villa room, it was really pretty in the midst of greenery2. The best part was the beautiful washroom with blue and sand coloured hues3. The surroundings are calm unlike the west coast (a little noisy coz it’s always busy)So if you wana relax, you’ll love it.Activities -1. We did the phi phi island tour from the railay east pier2. The railay viewpoint and Phra nang caves and beach are a 10mins walk from here3. We saw people doing rock climbing also at the east coast4. The pick up for the night Snorkelling was also from the railay east pierTip - try to book the hotel atleast 2 weeks in advance.The prices were really low 2 weeks before we booked and they soar up 1 week after.Conclusion - a beautiful property to take benefit of both east and west coast because it’s connected to the west coast through the sand sea resort.

Good resort, it is important to say, it has been merged with the sand sea resort but still has a seperete reception (located at railay east).The food / restaurant where you eat breakfast located quite far (railay west side).The whole reception area is now days (15.1.23) being renovated and there is a lot of noise coming from that area.Luckily for us the ladies at the desk were able to switch our rooms.Prices are fairRooms are relatively cleanAC works perfectly, hot water in the shower - the same.Overall a good experience for the price paid.Stayed 2 nights as a couple.

Great place, very nice and helpful staff, clean, close to everything, great price, transfer can be ordered immediately at the hotel, very tasty breakfasts... nothing more, just go - sightsee - relax :) taste delicious Thai flavors and enjoy the relaxation massages :)

Where should I start? I booked 2 nights but only stayed 1 - I didn't feel comfortable at all!At first glance, the bungalow was fine. Large and spacious with a nice bathroom. But from there things fell to the ground: the room was SO dirty. There were used contact lenses from a previous guest on the bedside table and on the floor next to the bed. There were dead ants all around. There was even a dead cockroach in the bathroom. And there was the dust. I only discovered this in the evening when I arrived late and rushed down to the beach. That's why I approached the reception first thing in the morning (it was closed, so you had to go to the reception at another hotel). I said how dirty it was and they said they would send room service. They did. But they didn't remove the cockroach, the contact lenses or the ants even though I had mentioned it! They just swept and made the bed.Also, the bathtub was disgusting, so I had to clean it before I could use it. There were dead insects and soil in it.The lamp in the shower room did not work and it was only hot for 1 minute.There were also a lot of mosquitoes inside the bungalow. Probably because the windows in the bathroom could not be closed…. So many things that just don't last!In addition to the bungalow itself, you must also be prepared that the area is a bit of a labyrinth, where it can be difficult to find your way around when it is dark. There is poor lighting and many animals (monkeys, giant verans, large frogs, etc.)The pool is also full of leaves and not particularly inviting.The service on site was BAD. The receptionist almost couldn't greet me when I arrived (was busy with her phone). And he didn't know English.Don't buy the breakfast - It's also bad. Waste of money.I had booked 2 nights but only stayed 1. I didn't feel safe there.

The Hotel was available for booking on Agoda but the hotel was shut down once I arrived there. Tried to call them but the phone line was disconnected. Appeareantly the hotel is shut down and they move you in another hotel but there was no one to explain that.Since one month I try to get the refund and the Hotel and Agoda keep playing ping pong saying the hotel is open.Avoid this hotel. Is abandoned.
