Grand Andaman Resort/แกรนด์อันดามันรีสอร์ท

Wow! Before the diving trip we decided to stay at this lovely, secluded resort. This hidden gem is a bit away from the pier but quiet and right next to the Mu Ko Phetra National Park. Breakfast is at the beautiful cozy coffee shop in the front. The owner Jah speaks perfect English as she was educated in Chicago. Jah was a beautiful host and most kind and gracious. Jah arranged for a private boat tour of a desolate island, but I am sure it was busy during the tourist season. She then arranged a private tour of the live market. She took us to the market which was our first experience with a Thai market. Her ability to speak English helped us every day. The rooms were clean, the service amazing, and the coffee awesome. We were so happy to be welcomed on our one of our first stays to Thailand by a beautiful soul. The food was also amazing. We were there during the rainy season.

It was wonderful staying here. I love the rooms. The owner, Hajah Nik Faezah was really kind to give us a room upgrade so that our two rooms were adjacent. We even got to park our car right in front of the rooms.My family room has 3 spacious beds, a very clean toilet, a sofa, a writing table, a mini fridge, a water heater and a tv, complete with aircond.My sister's room has 2 spacious beds and other similar amenities.On Saturday morning, we had a halal buffet of fried shrimp chicken rice, chicken porridge with condiments, fried eggs and bread. There were some traditional kueh as well.On Sunday morning, we were sent breakfast of our choice. And the host was so generous! For a family room, we were given 4 sets of big portions of fried rice, chicken basil with white rice and rice porridge for breakfast, complete with 2 big cups of iced espresso, 1 big cup of iced latte and 1 big cup of iced cocoa. They all tasted delicious!The resort is located in front of Mu Ko Pethra National Park. The host recommended us to go for a walk in the morning but unluckily it was raining the first morning there, and the next day, my sister was unwell.My children didn't get to play at the beach, as there were a lot of boats there. We could hear the waves from our rooms though. A suitable beach could be reached by car in less than 5 minutes though, but we didn't go.We tried 3 nearby restaurants for lunch. Nava Seafood, Rimle Kitchen and Papayamom. Our preference was Nava. Please try their udang masak asam jawa 😊Before check out, Puan Hajah, the owner of Grand Andaman Resort even led us to the fresh crab farm nearby Pakarang Resort. It was very kind of her.I will come again to visit during November-May someday, in sha Allah to try boat trips that Puan Hajah often organises.

The condition of the area is very good because it is away from the hustle and bustle of the road.
