A desolate placeReception: even if you don't speak English, you can at least greet your guest in Thai. Instead we were silenced.Internet: not available (Bungalow Ocean 04), mobile network with AIS not sufficient.In response to the complaint, Khao told us that we should just sit downstairs at the reception, the internet would be best there - it's not like we have to work late at night or would like to watch a film.. He He also promised us to reset the router. That helped for a few hours.The room: Air conditioning is defective and therefore does not cool sufficiently. Leaves were burned in front of our bungalow, which meant our room smelled VERY strongly of smoke for the entire duration of our three-night stay. Overall, the room is okay, but it doesn't look like the pictures from Agoda/Booking and co. The bathroom is in serious need of renovation (shower head holder is falling off the wall).The area: very desolate and has not been maintained for years. The pool is dirty. Small fires can be found everywhere.The breakfast: even more desolate than the grounds. We had read online that the food here was okay, but the breakfast was probably a joke! On the first morning we found a basket with a few slices of toast, as well as jam and butter. I don't want to know how long the bread has been there. Then, without comment, we were brought a plate of watermelon and pineapple and then asked if we wanted an omelette. Huh?? On the third morning there was neither breakfast nor a contact person at reception. You can do it.I strongly advise anyone not to book this resort! Acceptable for €20 per night, but not for €30 plus. I am very sorry for booking this resort.

We stayed at the resort for 4 nights, the resort is beautifully natural! We thought that was great. The access is an absolute disaster. Can be done with a scooter, but only for experienced drivers 😀Of course, a natural resort means that there are one or two animals there (monkeys, water toads, the odd spider). Bottom line, nothing crazy.The water toads need to be relocated to another location in the jungle! They have no place in the resort.The bungalows urgently need to be renovated!!! The first one we got was open at every nook and cranny, the floor was poorly repaired and there was still a hole in it. The door was open to unloved animals.When we asked to get an upgrade to one of the better bungalows (ship bungalow on the beach), the on-site manager was wonderful! He really did everything to make us feel comfortable.A move was possible without any problems for an additional charge.At this point, a big compliment to the entire staff on site, they do their best to accommodate the guests' every wish.The owners urgently need to ensure that the resort is brought into shape.Food was delicious, breakfast made with love.Conclusion: Always back in the lower bungalow.The island is wonderful, without mass tourism.

Heavenly place. Of course access is a little difficult but that’s what makes it so charming. The manager and his staff are incredibly kind. They came to pick us up several times at the end of the difficult path!The beach in front of the hotel is magnificent and CLEAN because the staff collects the waste. The rooms are beautiful and in good condition and the swimming pool is great.We will come back for sure! Thanks again 🙏🏼

Perfect place to relaxe , staffs are nice and helpful. The resort is situated away from the busy community, offering an ideal environment for relaxation. However, the road leading to the resort is narrow and winding, necessitating cautious driving. Each room in the resort is enveloped by nature, with hills that may not be suitable for individuals with leg or knee issues. Additionally, it is advised not to place food items on the balcony railing as they could be taken by monkeys.

We had a wonderful time there. Koh Jum is not very touristy, and the people are friendly and live according to their own rules. There is not much to do on the island except eat well and ride a scooter up and down the main road. Ocean beach resort is a neat resort. The houses are neat and clean and the air conditioning works. Everything is no longer in new condition and every now and then there are some animals inside, but that is part of the nature in which the resort is located. Every morning we enjoyed the passing group of monkeys.The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the food is excellent and the atmosphere is extremely relaxed. The guests are known by name and are always there for you.From the terrace of the restaurant you have a view of the sea and a clean beach. There are probably many places where the sea is clearer, but there are all kinds of beautiful things to see with snorkeling.The road to the resort is a bumpy sandy path that takes about 7 minutes by scooter to reach the paved road, which was quite an adventure every time.Hopefully Koh Jum can retain its special character and will not be overrun with commercialism.

We really enjoyed our vacation here. The Honeymoon Suites are beautiful and spacious. The beach is great and the staff is super friendly. Monkey lovers will also have fun. Every morning the gang of monkeys goes out and gets food from the palm trees - just sweet. The breakfast is sufficient and very tasty. The sunset is gorgeous. The rooms are clean and the facility is very well maintained. Definitely recommended!CAUTION!If you get a WhatsApp in which someone claims to work remotely for the hotel and can book things via PayPal, just don't answer! That's cheating. The hotel's systems seem to have been hacked for a long time (see other reviews) and someone is reading incoming bookings and using the contact details for fraud. The manager says there is no person working remotely for the hotel. If you check the number you will see that it comes from Nigeria.The following should be noted:- The route to the hotel is very broken - taking a quick moped to the supermarket to get water becomes an adventure.- As cute as the monkeys are, they wake you up every morning at sunrise - more for early risers, but we liked it.- The slope on which the resort is located is very steep. If you have a hut at the top, the daily climb and descent to the sea and restaurant is good exercise. OK for us...- When we arrived we didn't know where the reception was. The driver couldn't reach anyone, so we carried the suitcases all the way downstairs. Once you have the room at the top, you first carry everything down and then all the way back up (not easy with the mountain). This is not the ideal start to a relaxing vacation.- The food in the hotel restaurant is good, but very expensive by Thai standards. However, there is good and cheaper food in the resort right next door.

PositiveStaff were lovely friendly and helpful. Secluded and felt private, only 2 other small accommodation uses the beach. Restaurant was nicely located over the beach and by a beautiful huge Banyan tree.If you like wildlife and a natural environment this could be for you.Lots of little crabs to watch running around, friendly dogs that don't bother you, they're busy doing their own thing. Butterflies, squirrels etc.Not so for us.The access road in/out was quite a worry, it felt unsafe and very close to the edge at times. Not a great entrance. There are a lot of steps as it's on a hill and while staff carry baggage if you have mobility issues this could be an issue.Wildlife-clearly we are in their home, and they will let you know this. We had honeymoon suite and felt we couldn't sit out after one troop went through and a couple lingered.The room was ok but for the price could have been better.For us this was to be a little treat at the end of a 9 week tour and early wedding anniversary but unfortunately was disappointing.

We stayed for nine nights in this beautiful place. We did not book ahead as we were a bit hesitant to such a commitment because of the mixed and partially terrible reviews online. When we arrived, the gang of monkeys plundered all of our baby's food like milk powder, cookies etc withing the first minutes out of a zip locked bag while we checked in. We informed the manager that we are in dire need of milk powder and within zero time he arranged a driver for us to check the mini shops on the island for our re-supply.It wasn't only Khao, the manager but his whole amazing team which made our stay a warm and welcoming experience, especially also for our kid.The bungalow with a sea view balcony was amazing and all the technical stuff in it worked flawlessly.The area is remarkably well maintained given its sheer size. At least 5-6 team members work multiple hours a day to just clean the place from fallen leaves and take care of the overwhelming nature around. I'm emphasizing this as this is where the place is: Within and surrounded by pure nature on a wonderful beach with remarkable tide swings. It's off the beaten track, the dirt road to the resort is in bad condition but after about 1.5 km it's tarmac and a scooter ride "downtown" is about 5-10 minutes, depending on your scooter skills.There are many many stairs but again: It's unrealistic to expect a cable car in a steep hill in the jungle and the ascend is no issue for healthy individuals, however if you suffer from some sort of joint disease this might be an important information for you.The breakfast and food in the restaurant is great and lovely arranged at a perfect scenery though quite a bit pricier than the other choices on this beach.The pool is clean, we visited it everyday and had no concerns, taking our baby for a daily bath there.The manager arranged a wonderful and memorable custom boat trip for us after we asked if he could arrange a tour a bit off the notorious tourist hotspots on Kho Phi Phi.Long story short:If you're looking for flawless 5 star luxury without any nature or wild animals bothering you: This is probably not the right place. If you're looking for a calm and cozy spot with great service and wonderful warmhearted staff nested within lush nature (as in animals, flora, tides, etc) this place is for you as it was the perfect paradise experience for us.

Exceptional service, especially from Sun. He helped us a lot with scooter rental and took care of us like we were his family. All other stuff including the manager very nice and friendly too. Food very well too and very quiet, peaceful resort with a nice beach
