Absolute breathtaking view of the Mekong! Classic Thailand teakwood motif with a thatched roof in the Common Area. Food so light and fresh but hitting the spot at the same time. And a staff that make you feel like you're one of their friends rather then just a guest. Highly recommend! 420 friendly as well!

It’s a really special place to stay. I was there for 1 night but wish I stayed longer. The house is beautiful, made from antique wood, and has an amazing view from the common area. Sure the bathroom in the private room was not fancy but at the end of the day it works so who cares, especially with the reasonable price you pay to stay here!The owner, Maleewan, has a really interesting story to tell - she is such a character and I wish I could have talked with her for longer. Bonus points for cute cat and sweet, friendly dog. Also it’s a very short walk to the bus stop where you can catch the red bus to Chiang Rai.

This is a nice wooden place with ideal price.I stayed for a night in a private room after a long day passing from Laos to Thailand.The decorations make me feel like I’m staying in a family home, and the owner is super kind, straight-forward and good in English too.The room is spacious and clean with all basic necessities which is fit to the price.The view of the Mekong River is exceptional from here.Recommended.

Loveliest, friendliest mother/daughter owners.This place has a really wonderful energy to it with wood and plants everywhere. Free refill water.I paid 150 for a dorm bed and had the whole room to myself.Nice location with beautiful iews of the mekong and Lao.I was invited to have tea with the great owner when I arrived and we had a great conversation, she really cares about all her guests which is why so many people stay here for weeks.

Avoid this guesthouse!We booked a room with the owner via messages and when we arrived (after the crossing of the border), the guesthouse was full. No room available, we had to walk around the city at night to find another place. Not trustworthy, thus I Would not recommend you to go there, as you might not have a room to sleep.

One of the earliest places to stay here. Old wooden buildings with loads of character and charm. Fantastic views over the River. Lots of balcony area to sit and enjoy the view.The owners are lovely and helpful.I'm a repeat guest and will continue to be.

The place itself is as other reviews say quite old and simple however the common area and the terraces is really nice with a great view over the river. Expect it to be very noisy during the mornings. But ++5 stars for the amazing homemade food we had! As vegetarians we were a bit unsure about how many options we would have but even though there were no veggie options at the displayed menu the owner went beyond and made us an amazing curry with potatoes and fried veggies and rice. Honestly the most fresh and tasty meal we had so far in Thailand

Nice staff, although having a bit old info about border crossing. I could not argue with everything as I was never at the border yet the time I stayed here but the research I've had found appeared exact. So the lady can tell you that visa is about 30-35$, maybe 40$. It is exactly 40$ for all nationalities authorized for VOA but one (I believe Vietnamese, but don't remember well).She also mentioned that the tickets for slowboat to Luang Prapang might be higher than 300k LAK - again, no, it is exactly 300k LAK.We had a talk with staff about those above because they offer tickets&full transfer for 1200 THB per person, which is around 600k LAK, so you pay same price for ~35km transfer and service as for 2 day trip on the boat. Doesn't calculate for me.We managed to cross the border ourselves easily, left the property around 7:45 am, been at the slow boat pier at 10:00am. We paid for transfers and slowboat 970 THB per person, so based on this long story you can decide for yourselves which option you prefer :DThe room we got was really cheap, with beautiful view to Lao side. However the shower cabin in the bathroom was in the worst state I have ever seen. There were no paddling pool, you had to stand on wooden construction in it. It was just too bad to rent it to anybody.There is a terrace where you can have a coffee or meal with amazing landscape. Prices for food & drinks are a bit too high, hot home coffee was the same price as coffee machine one in town. Curry/soups price are the same as in restaurants. I think for home food the prices should be the same as on markets.

I didn't stay here, but had a wonderful meal on the deck overlooking the Mekong. The proprietor is knowledgable about the history of the area, and made me feel at home. A great place for a sundowner.

The atmosphere is good. You can sit and chill while watching the Mekong River flow. Unfortunately, when we arrived there was construction noise. It's not quiet enough. Anyone who stops by can try sitting.
