Fabulous! A great way to be close to elephants in a hands-off but still close caring way. The elephants are clearly loved and well looked after.You can spend time making their food, feeding it to them which is wonderful and hilarious at the same time; those trunks definitely know where the next food is coming from and how to get itWatching them bathe is fun, they clearly love it.No hands-on riding, bathing or anything like that hereExcellent facilities, huge tents (although they do get very hot indeed despite the air conditioning).Food is excellent. In the evening you can help with the cooking a little and local school children come around to show us some traditional dancingAlso get to meet some of the Karen tribe who live on site and try your had at traditional weaving and/or cooking

There is no better way to see the elephants in Thailand, than staying at The Bush Camp Elephant Hills in Chiang Mai!We opted for the 2 night/3 day option for our trip in March 2024 and were absolutely thrilled with how our trip went!All staff members offer you the highest level of service during your stay - they’re not just your guides, they are your friends :)The food & drink refreshments for breakfast, lunch, dinner & activities are absolutely gorgeous - you can definitely see why it’s a ‘Luxury 5 Star’ experience!Elephant Hills is THE most ethical place for you to visit elephants in Thailand - no mud washing, no riding - just simply feeding the elephants and letting them roam free across vast grassland!Overall, we absolutely loved our time at The Bush Camp in Chiang Mai and would urge anyone coming to Thailand to make the trip to Elephant Hills - no question!Thank you again to all of the team, especially Nink & Chai - you were amazing!For reference, we had Tent 10 - which had an incredible view across the Ping River!

Amazing experience. We really wanted to visit the elephants on our Thailand trip, but were worried about finding a spot that is ethical and treats the animals well. The Bush Camp is exactly that! They have nine elephants that are all female. They roam freely within the enclosures, they are healthy, and they are super friendly. The itinerary was packed with activities—food demonstrations, elephant feeding, making paper out of elephant poop—all led by our amazing guide, Shirlee. Everyone was so sweet and welcoming. We highly recommend the Bush Camp!

10/10 experience

This was a fantastic experience, we did the one night stay which was very structured. It worked well with our busy schedule travelling around, however others stayed for 2 nights or more and said you really got to relax and enjoy fantastic pool area and views.It's worth noting that if you have mobility issues it's easy to get around. They offer everyone the golf cart pick up and drop off tonand from the tents and restaurants, and drive you to the activities with seating readily available at each stage and plenty of toilet facilities.The first day we got there we went straight to the restaurant/pool. Got to have a drink and relax a little before lunch. Then off to do activities feeding the elephants and enjoying the experience in the Karen village.After we got to see our tents, which really aren't tents. More like raised tent cabins. Solid floors, beautiful decking with an amazing view, coffee & tea facilities, glass bottled water, a mini bar, air con, big fans and a fully decked out bathroom a great shower. The only downside was with the one night stay you didn't get more time in the tent.The evening they had happy hour 5:30-6:30, worth making the most of that time, they do take a while to make the drinks. But you get to experience a truly breathtaking sunset with friends made throughout the day. We were lucky to be a part of a great group of fellow travellers, sat and had a great evening meal together. But could easily have arranged a private table.Second day got up early to enjoy a cuppa on the decking then down to the restaurant for breakfast. Relaxed and calm time enjoying the views again before sitting down, the food was fantastic!Then off the feed the elephants and watch them bathe. Interactions were fun but brief, which was fine as it was great to see them well looked after.After the morning activities we returned to the tents to pack and then got a couple of hours to enjoy the pool before lunch and then time to leave.We really did love the experience, and enjoyed the company of the people we met. Shirlee our guide was fantastic, very friendly, polite and helpful. Also very honest if she didn't know something she would find out. Thank you so much for such a wonderful visit!!

We stayed for 3 nights at the Bush Camp in February and had the most wonderful time.We stayed in Tent 10, and had fabulous views. And it definitely isn’t a tent - it’s beautiful spacious accommodation, 5 star glamping.We had lots of interaction with the elephants, feeding them, hosing them down, watching them bathe, preparing snacks and dietary supplements for them and just spending time watching these magnificent animals.At one point I was scratching one of the elephants heads, and the look this elephant gave me will stay with me forever.All the elephants were looked after with so much care and love.Also did other experiences while we were there (all included), cookery demonstration , watched Thai dancing, making elephant poo paper, visiting a Karen village and had a cookery lesson.All the time we were looked after my Shirlee, who was so lovely, enthusiastic and really added to our enjoyment while we were at the camp.Add that onto plentiful, delicious food and chilling by a swimming pool and sipping cocktails - what’s not to love?It was my birthday while we were at the Bush Camp, and the staff made a fuss of me, even presenting me with an elephant birthday cake!Thoroughly recommend

Wonderful from start to finish. Hands off approach towards the elephants was great. Not made to do tricks or be bathed by us etc. The camp have won awards for their treatment of the elephants. Glamping in style. Just extremely hot in the tents in the daytime and the Aircon had it's work cut out! Staff are brilliant. Shirlee our guide was so knowledgeable, kind and couldn't do enough for us. Food delicious. Happy with FREE cocktails very nice touch. Amazing place highly recommended.

If you’re traveling to Thailand, you have to come here! Words can’t properly describe how amazing of an experience this was. The whole team was wonderful (shoutout to Chai, our awesome guide). The elephants here were clearly well taken care of and loved. We admired them from a distance and got to feed them which was a really fun experience, you can tell the elephants all have different personalities. The food was impeccable and everything was so clean, the surrounding area was stunning as well. 10/10 experience which I will recommend to anyone going to Thailand :)
