After checking out of a horrid Mecure property on short notice I found a great rate here at the Hermitage. This is charming property that evokes the old colonial past of Jakarta and does so with quality, style and service. I was very happy here with the value and the room. The hotel size is small and the feeling is very VIP. This is not a massive property but a place that feels like an old hotel from by gone days. I absolutely recommend it.

Whether it was assistance with check-in, restaurant recommendations, or just general inquiries, they handled everything with ease and warmth.The rooms are spacious, immaculately clean, and well-designed, blending modern comforts with classic touches. I found the bed extremely comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day exploring the city. Just staying overnight.The room wants to be luxurious, but a room full of carpet is not really good. The carpet feels dirty and dirty. Makes you sneeze.The receptionist was very unprofessional and didn't understand hospitality.Then there was a banquet staff who was very rude, pushing me with his finger as if I was a despicable person who had to give way to a foreigner, who was also my friend. The staff thought I was lower in rank than my friend.

Exactly 24 years ago this hotel was our UBK campus. The Dutch heritage building was beautifully appointed as the Merriot Hermitage Hotel.

I could give 4* instead of 2* but a specific event occurred in this hotel that I found scandalous and I will tell you about it later.The location is magnificent and the hotel is a work of art full of history. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable and the staff, for the most part, was charming, although somewhat chaotic.The negative part, and here comes the incident, we arrived with a taxi from the airport, the taxi driver was a VERY old man, when he went to enter through the door, the security man (not the one with the dog, this one was charming , if not another who is simply at the door), I threw him out in a very bad way while I looked at him with the greatest contempt I have ever seen, our poor taxi driver walked away slowly without knowing what to do and we did not understand anything (I guess Mr. security did not realize that there were hotel guests in the taxi). The poor taxi driver continued moving towards the second door (the one where the cars exit) and I could see how the security man continued to look at us with contempt and calling someone with his walkie. Given the situation, I got out and scolded him (there he clearly He realized he had made a mistake. The rest of our stay, he didn't even have the courage to look at us and when we passed by him he hid. We don't care that he didn't let us enter the hotel at first, what bothers me is the lack of respect for that poor taxi driver whom he discriminated against and treated with contempt thinking he wanted to enter the hotel. A Hermitage behaving like this?On the other hand, if there were some inconveniences due to the disorder of the staff, we booked a 1.30h massage for 2 people at 6.30pm and they told us that they would come pick us up from the room, at 7.20pm they called us and told us that they would come with delay and if it matters to us that it be at 7.30, then at 8.00 and finally if it could be at 9.00pm, which we rejected. I don't understand how they can't have order in the SPA.Otherwise, as I say, the staff was very polite and accommodating, we ordered breakfast to go and they had everything ready and the room was fantastic. But the incident with the man at the door, I can't forget...

Stayed here for 3 nights with my husband. The hotel is beautiful and location is close to Jakarta CBD area.All the staff is pleasant, very friendly and helpful. The room is clean and beautiful.2 stars because the buffet have pork. Breakfast buffet and in-room menus have pork. We tried to confirm with their kitchen either it is from separate restaurant, but the kitchen informed us it is from same restaurant 1928. However the kitchen mentioned to us that their meat is from halal sources.Im not sure either this is normal in Indonesia because I’m from Malaysia and we have strict guidelines on halal food. Cooking and preparation for halal and non halal ingredients need to be separated. In Malaysia they cannot claim halal if they serve pork in same restaurant.One of the reason we booked this hotel because we saw this hotel in Indonesia halalbooking website and the website mentioned all food is halal. So we’re very disappointed when we saw pork in their menus. This also cause trouble for us to find alternatives for breakfast since we’re not confident to eat their buffet.Other than that, we’re satisfied with the hotel.

The hotel is special! Quietly located in the middle of a beautiful residential area and yet also centrally connected. It's a 5-minute walk to the train station and you can get anywhere cheaply and reliably at any time using the Grab app, for example. There are dining options within walking distance.We stayed in a fantastic colonial-style room for 4 days/nights. Everything you needed in terms of comfort was there. The room consisted of four areas: an entrance area with a couch and desk, the beautiful bedroom, the spacious bathroom with two sinks and another small bathroom with a beautiful, large bathtub.The breakfast buffet was extensive and special. Located in a beautiful room with lots of little special extras and in addition to what was on offer there was an extensive menu from which you could order anything. What really stood out here, as in the entire hotel, was the special service and friendliness of the staff! It doesn't get any better! Rizky and Adi in particular were very attentive and always tried to make sure we were well. But so does everyone else!The pool was on the roof on the 9th floor. Admittedly it only had a few sun loungers with 2 loungers, but there was never a big rush for it. There are also various other seating options. Since the area is protected from the wind, you would otherwise not spend time here in the heat. The pool is also quite clear but good for cooling off.Another positive thing that struck me was that they are striving for sustainability. There were glass bottles of water in the rooms and pasta straws for cocktails 😌. They may be small things but I thought they were great!

I love the inclusive values!!Stayed here for a week for a training. Overall experience was tremendous: from the room, service quality, and food varieties.First: I am happy to interact with the staff. Friendly and professional. I met a trainee who has physical special needs, but he gave service as excellent as the regular staff.Second: clean room and well maintained. My room has a living room separated from the bedroom.Third : food is amazing and always serve different main food in the buffet each day. The rooftop view is amazing 🔥

Stayed for 5 days at this hotel. Location in front of SD N Menteng 3. Even though it is an old Dutch building, this hotel is very clean, well maintained, beautiful and quiet. All hotel staff are very friendly and always smiling. The food is very delicious, even though it's a western menu, it still suits Indonesian tastes. The menu is very complete + there is a TOP request menu. Recommended sunrise and smoked salmon sandwiches.

A hotel with excellent service for breakfast and brunch (afternoon) the hotel service is not 5 star they are very slow and understand little English! (I don't know if they're pretending or it's really a language problem)The TV doesn't work with the Internet after pointing it out they brought a device but we had 2 rooms and the device was one! And they didn't have any others... air conditioning doesn't work much... cleanliness is a bit poor, sheets are a bit stained.There is no menu inside the rooms. After requesting it, the menu arrived via WhatsApp after 40 minutes. In the meantime, we went down and got it ourselves!Lunch is very poor in terms of service and dishes. There were 4 of us who went for lunch and we ordered everything together as normal!!Everyone's food arrived separately..! While my husband finished his soup my undressed salad arrived (the dressing arrived when I finished my salad) after an hour my mother's dish arrived and then my father's!Terrible….. my husband's meat never arrived and after 2 hours we left!The manager to apologize insisted on offering a cocktail once we left they made us pay for the cocktails!!! (why pretend!!!) and in any case they don't have good cocktails, water and ice aren't worth it!We need to improve on service and cleanliness and education. IT IS NOT 5 STARS even if you pay for 5 stars!!

I stayed at this vintage, historical hotel for a week. The building has a classic look with off-white walls. The entrance is well-guarded, and I even met a new friend, Michael, the K9 dog. My room on the 7th floor was excellent. The hotel felt like home to me. The housekeeping was outstanding. The food was amazing—I had three meals a day, and everything was top-notch. As a Javanese with a particular taste, I was impressed with the variety and quality of both Western and Eastern dishes. The staff was all friendly and helpful.Ps. Every single corner of the hotel is instagramable.
