Gwangju Divine Hotel

I booked this property through booking.com in the end I did not stay there. I came to the hotel to leave my luggage around 13.30, the check in was from 18.00 but they stated on booking that they had both 24hour front desk as well as a luggage storing service. When I came to the hotel I first had to walk through a very shady parking garage to get to the lobby where no staff was to be found. There was a note blocking the front desk which was all written in Korean as well as a loud drama show was being played on the computer screen. 1 translated the text on the counter where it stood that they were currently conducting room cleaning and you could call the number, which 1 did. A man answered and only spoke Korean, I told him in English, that I was at the hotel and I wanted to leave my luggage before check in. He responded back in Korean and then just hung up on me. 1 called again stating the same things very clearly saying the name of the hotel and that I was currently in the lobby (thinking that he could just come down if he was in the building) He hung up again. 1 had prior engagements and I specifically went to the hotel first to leave my luggage but they were unhelpful and the whole state of the hotel was not a place which made me feel safe to come back here in the evening. So I decided to cancel my stay and ask them for a waiver on the cancellation fee seeing that the service they stated that they had was not presentThe owner later apologized through a message on booking but I had already booked another hotel and did not wish to return to that place.I have now been persistent with both the owner and booking to respond to my inquiry about the cancellation fees but so far no answers, the owner has started to completely ignore all my messages.

A cost-effective hotel where two people could stay for 40,000 won. It's nice that it's fairly clean, but it's disappointing that there are no amenities provided. It can also be uncomfortable when the owner keeps talking to you.

It is a relatively clean accommodation.I found this hotel by chance while going to the countryside... It's good value for money.
