K-Grand Hostel Myeongdong

This place is renamed to Oyo Hostel myeongdong 1. Utter atrocious and hopeless staff. Please read my detailed review before booking1) Bath towels are not provided. They claim they provide towels but provide 4 piece of hand towels and place them on the bed. Ridiculous. Additional deposit of 10000KRW is needed2) Same for adaptor, additional deposit needed.3) Rooms are small, I believe it was advertised as 16sqm on Agoda but it's barely 10sqm, including bathroom.4) Rooms are FILTHY. Dust, rust everywhere! Ridiculous standard.Let's get into the absolute nightmare of security concerns. Coming from a hotelier, I guarantee you this is not practiced ANYWHERE worldwide. Even €5 a night hostel in Europe isn't so garbage.5) no form of verification is made during check in. If you arrive after 10pm, they leave your key cards and welcome letter, stating your full name and stay period ON THE COUNTER WITH NO STAFF IN SIGHT. Literally anyone can take it and access the rooms !6) in addition to above, no staff on site after 10pm. Have you ever considered safety or emergency situation? You expect foreigner to know who to call in event of fire or medical ? This is an unacceptable practice and major safety breach.7) Returned back to room (after 10pm) after a whole day out and found the toilet is locked from the inside. Good job housekeeping, can't use the toilet the whole night because of this and NO STAFF ON SITE. Worst part of it, hostel staff is not responsive via text("Emergency number") and even tried blaming it on us after we checked out.8) towel racks in room are not even secured properly. Placed 2 bath towels on top and entire rack fell. Had to DIY to fix it back because the staffs are truly incompetent.9) While it's located centrally, it's above a restaurant with 140 decibel music blaring through (yes I measured). Try resting my friends.10) "Breakfast" provided is literally plain bread and jam. I think you eat better anywhere in the world lol.Do not expect ANY form of amenities or service if you are booked here. Prices are about US100 a night but the standard is worse than €5 hostels. Utter disappointment and will never return.Absolutely garbage of a place. Do not book unless you want your trip ruined.

The location is right next to Banilan on Myeongdong Street and very close to the subway.The room is a bit small

Booking with Agoda for 3 nights costs 4503 yuan. Remember not to look at the address on Google Maps. It’s important to say no, no, no, three times‼ ️Depends on the address of Agoda, otherwise look for the entrance next to BANILA.CO‼ ️The address here will be connected to OYO Hotel and 24-hour supermarketIt's very suitable for backpackers. The toilet is very small and the washbasin is even smaller. If you can't stand the stench, don't stay here! Their drain pipes have no odor blocking functionAlthough the bed was stained with dirt, it had been washed and at least it wasn't itchy. The environment is also clean and hygienic. There are trash cans, tables and chairs in the public area for eating, and non-smoking rooms. No matter how many nights you stay, no one will come to clean it. When you check out, you throw the card into the box.Downstairs is Myeongdong Night Market, but the walls are well insulated and you can't hear outside sounds. However, the sound insulation of the interior walls and doors is not good, and you can hear each other's sounds.

Located in the center of Myeong-dong, it has excellent access to shopping, etc.Surprisingly, there was no outside noise at night.Stayed in mid June. The first floor of the building where the hotel is located is currently under construction, making the entrance difficult to find. (At first I thought it was a construction entrance lol)The receptionist will be kind to you!I made a reservation because the room had its own bathroom and was reasonably priced, but it wasn't as bright as the photos on the reservation site, and the entrance and hallway were dim and cluttered🤣There is a shower, but there is no water pressure, just flowing water (lol)The room is also quite compact.It was a double bet between two girls, but it's hard to spread it out if you have a large carrier.It's a bit disappointing that there are no windows and no sunlight.I think it's fine just to sleep!I have used hostels in Myeong-dong before, but my personal impression is that I don't think there will be a second time.
