Empathy Guesthouse

This guesthouse is in a great location, just a 5-minute walk from Chuo-ro subway station. Stayed in September for around 2000 yen per night (no meals). Check-in is at 15:00 and check-out is at 11:00. The 1st floor is the reception and main lobby (with a water server and refrigerator), the 2nd floor is a small common room (with a microwave and washing machine), and the 3rd to 5th floors are each room. First, get your room key at the reception. The key is the room key and the locker key.The room I stayed in was a little small for 8 people. If you wish to enter or leave the main entrance after 6:00 pm, you will need to enter the 4-digit password that you were given. The room has a toilet and shower room. There was toothpaste, soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryer.There are towels, pillow cases, and bed covers on the bed, and you have to set them up yourself. When checking out, I was instructed to take my own towels and covers to the basket on the 1st floor. There was a power source in the room, but the person who entered the room earlier occupied it, so I had no choice but to charge it in the main lobby on the 1st floor or the common room on the 2nd floor.Since it was still hot in September, the room had air conditioning and a relatively large fan. The reception closes at 10pm, but the lobby on the 1st floor and the common space on the 2nd floor are open 24 hours a day. Although the guesthouse is located in the city, it was quiet at night. There is a rooftop on the 5th floor where you can smoke and have a good view. There is free WI-FI, but sometimes it doesn't connect.Overall, the location is good, it's quiet at night, and the price is low, but considering the comfort, I think it's a little difficult to stay multiple nights. I think it's fine if you're only staying for one night.

It's not the right next to the busiest area, but it's about 15 minutes' walk from the busiest area and 20 minutes' walk from the train station. …

I stayed here for 5 nights. Extremely happy with this place. The location is excellent, the staff are very helpful and friendly (especially Sang Hee who share a lot of travel tips). There's no kitchen except 1 microwave and no elevator. However, it's not a big issue for me. Overall I'm glad I've chosen this place and will definitely consider Empathy again when I'm back in Daegu

Great guesthouse, nice location, kind staffs

A wonderful experience right in the center of Daegu; great location allowing easy access to the city's key sites; a friendly atmosphere representing the best of Korean hospitality; cosy rooms offering comfortable accommodation. It was particularly meaningful for us as we returned to Daegu after many years.
