Beautiful surroundings and a resort that has so much potential with a little bit more love and attention. As I’ve read in other reviews, towels are very poor quality and not changed often ( luckily I brought mine). Laundry service is cheap but they destroyed two of my pieces. The place seems understaffed with poor service and big language communication issues. The food is vegan and is tasty on some days but portions aren’t very big and protein is really missing . Breakfast is very basic eg porridge and some fruit. No coffee. I bought lots of food with me. Rooms are poorly lit. I was in a single room with en suite and there wasn’t a desk or enough surfaces to put things on. The nature and surroundings are lovely. Be ready to be woken by very loud insect sounds at night in rainy season. With a bit more care for guests and attention to your property, it could get to 3 or maybe 4 stars. It’s far from chiang mai town and taxis often refuse to come here. Offering a generous tip helps. Just seems like owners / management aren’t that interested in this business.

I had a great time at Mala Dhara. The staff was helpful and friendly, the food was very tasty, and the views were spectacular! They also offer massage, I had the Thai massage and it was great!

Bad service. Resort confirmed our 2-room booking, then canceled afterwards as another group paid extra for privacy. We traveled from Bangkok for nothing. Resort offered no solutions. They take our booking for granted to please those who offer more. Rethink again if you're looking for a fair place to stay.

I completed a one-month yoga teacher training in Mala Dhara. The nature surrounding the resort is amazing and definitely helps get into the meditative mind. The shared hut that I stayed in was quite okay, but towels/bedsheets were often stained and/or with holes. The daily cleaning of the room was not thorough. To me, the food portions were small, and the intake of proteins was quite low (I have a big appetite, but maybe it’s okay for other people). Overall, I found the place expensive in view of the quality of services delivered.

Surroundings are absolutely beautiful, but the price is really not worth what you are getting compared to other places in Thailand. I was here 4 weeks on a yoga teacher training and stayed in one of the single huts. The interior is rustic, but quite nice and earthy. The lights are really dark, so hard to read anything at night. Few sockets but not in the right place so also the extra light does not help. AC is located directly over the bed so the air is blowing directly at you while sleeping. Windows are tiny and do not let a lot of light or air in, but a lot of insects, because there is a quadratic net on a circular window. So it does not really keep anything out. Bathroom quite simple and did not get cleaned for 2 weeks and after that only on request and not really properly cleaned either.Received stained towels or linen multiple times.The property and pool is really nice, but does lack opportunities to sit or hang out (loungers, hammocks, etc)Food was really good and mostly healthy (especially the soups OMG) but the breakfast could do with some more variety.Overall I would not really come back but look for more affordable options or options in the same price level that offer more.All in all great potential but loooads of tiny things that could really be improved.

Mala Dhara let me find the inner happiness. An unforgettable journey is not merely a physical journey from one place to another, but also a journey of the mind and the soul.The food are tastety and clearly healthier for the planet, because they support an agricultural system that avoids synthetic fertilizers and pesticides and promotes a more biodiverse ecosystem, with attention to the health of waterways, soil, air, wildlife, farm workers, and the climate.Thanks all the staff and give me a chance and opportunity to have a good environment to have a yoga retreat here.

Live in Paradise Now or Never :)Mala Dhara resort is like a paradise for me. I have been there for a retreat and that's the best decision made so far. P.Ploy, the owner of the place is a super positive person who always fulfil our soul and mind. Various activities are created to help us find ourselves and love ourselves more and more.The place is really nice, the food is great (vegan), the pets are super friendly both dogs and cats, the staff are so nice and always willing to help us.If you want to rest and treat yourself with nature, here is the best place and not so far away from Chiang Mai city center.
