Location wise: it has 1 negative and handful of positives… True that it is located on a “sketchy” alleyway, but a little around 5mins of walk, you have a convenience store, a metro station, a bus station, a direct bus to Incheon Aiport Terminal 1, and the famous Gwangjang Market!I would not book it by myself, but I see people here with families and partners.Room “Deluxe” for 2 pax booked via Booking.com, I would say i feel weird about calling it a “Deluxe”. There is no table nor chairs provided. I work remotely so that’s a huge downside for me… So i ended up borrowing the wooden chair from the hallway each night. But room service is good. They provide laundry service for 10,000 won. They emptied our trashcans and give us fresh towels each day. The breakfast was so-so. If you’re into savory (rice meals) breakfast, better skip it and just buy some breads from a nearby bakery. For those working remotely, wifi is strong, common area is good, but working from the room is impossible. No tables and chairs provided. We booked our DMZ tour with them and found out we paid a little higher than others from our bus group, and helped us to get the difference back.

Be Aware—No Refund Policy in PlaceIf a no-refund policy is already in place, that should be a red flag. My recent stay at OYO Hostel Dongdaemun 1 was disappointing, and the issues I faced make it clear why they might have such a policy.I recently stayed at OYO Hostel Dongdaemun 1 and, unfortunately, my experience was less than ideal. We had to check out after just one night due to some issues that made the room uncomfortable. There was a persistent odor in the room, and both my partner and I started coughing, which we hadn’t experienced before. The air conditioning also wasn’t working properly, making the room feel stuffy. While the receptionist acknowledged our concerns, the only response was that they would look into it for future guests. Unfortunately, we were not offered any solution during our stay, nor a refund for the unused nights.Additionally, the hostel is located on a somewhat shady street, next to a few establishments that didn’t look very inviting. I recommend anyone considering this hostel be aware of these factors and carefully weigh their options before booking.

Very good location, right next to Dongdaemum and a market. The staff is very pleasant, breakfast with milk/cereal, white bread, juice.On-site linen service at a lower cost.Accommodating staff, everything went very well, we were an association of 32 people!

No one wants to encounter a boss who has no empathy and is exposed to wind and natural disasters when he goes out to play.

My flight was canceled due to typhoon, I contacted the property asap with an alternative date and sent messages explaining the situation, they’ve been ignoring my messages and rejecting all the proposals, however when I contacted booking they were able to reach the hostel. It took my until 3am to finally get answers from them and they refuses to refund “ANYTHING” even if I provided them with airline cancellation notices and how serious the typhoon is, this typhoon is the most serious in 8 years and people all around Taiwan are asked to stay home by the government, it’s a natural disaster and people are getting seriously injured and with so many broken store signs falling in the street, when I asked the other places for cancellation not only did they asked how the situation and was understanding enough to let me reschedule or cancel, I’m not asking to a full refund but to understand the difficulties I’m facing and try to come up with a solution, even if you asked for a little more money to reschedule will be okay, but you not only refuses and not giving me any explanation, other than that is your “POLICY” Then completely ignoring your costumer to come up with any alternations, this is really not acceptable, this is the lowest compassion I’ve seen in a hotel/hostelI sincerely wish that you never encounter any nature disaster in your life.
