Jo Byeong-su's old house has been renovated and is being used as a guest house. When I was a student, I went on a field trip to a middle-class house during the Joseon Dynasty and kindly agreed to an interview. (The rough information is - It is a middle-class house built in 1890. It consists of a main building and an anchae, and is in the shape of a ㅁ shape with some sides broken. The main building is on the front 3 It is one and a half rooms in size, and the master bedroom and room across from the main room are placed on the left and right around the main floor, and a part of the kitchen ceiling is lowered to create an attic that is used in the main room. There was a living room on the east, a room and a warehouse on the west, and a veranda in front of the room.) I have a good memory of staying in a hanok for one night. To get there, you almost always have to take a car. It would be very difficult to get there by public transportation. Other than that, it is a quiet old house.

We had an unforgettable time at Ogamul Guesthouse. The Hanok is so beautiful! The room we stayed in was traditionally decorated, and the mattresses were really comfortable. We had a delicious, home-cooked dinner by Areum's mum! …

After a long airplane ride, this is the perfect start to visiting Korea. The hostess speaks English well (and her husband is English, actually!), and she will pick you up at the modern Incheon airport for a 15 minute drive that takes you from ultra modern Korea into rice paddies and a quiet tree covered nook where this 1890s traditional house stands.Guests have access to a common area, across the courtyard and through a sliding door into a traditional hall for dining or relaxing, and the sleeping rooms are heated/ air conditioned. Bathroom /shower rooms are in a separate building.Realize that this is not a luxury experience -- you will be sleeping on the floor, Korean style, on a padded mat, under open beam ceilings. For us Westerners not used to this, it is a blessing that the Ogamul proprietors provide EXTRA sleeping mats. 3 did fine for me, and I slept well, lulled into sleep by the calls of frogs in the rice paddies and the insects buzzing away in the lush growth. This was a lovely way to experience Korea, for an excellent price.

We had a 23 hour layover at Incheon and decided to stay here to have a little taste of Korean culture. We were not disappointed. We arrived at 7:30 at night and partook of a homecooked korean meal ($10 extra) which was outstanding.  …

Ancient house (built 1890) with great wifi. Rooms open onto courtyard. Seperate bath house with modern amenities. Be sure to enjoy the 13 dish Korean dinner (for extra $10) prepared fresh from the garden! Short distance from airport (airport pickup & drop off included). Extremely quiet & restful. Nearby beaches.
