I rented a room with a ladder loft. I used Yanolja to book the room. I stipulated 2 adults, a 13 year old, and a 17 month old. The software confirmed the party size at checkout. It charges based on that information. When we arrived in the remote mountain area, my son and I were led to the room. I saw the loft door was fastened shut and asked how to access it. He said it was inaccessible. I said that was the reason I rented it, for my son, so my wife and she the baby could be comfortable on the main floor. He said, wife and baby? He said Sorry. That's 40,000 krw extra (comparably $40 in the Korean economy). My son was translating so this is a paraphrase. He said we'd have to take a different pension room, the large one below for 120,000. He said it was a good deal because it was an normally 140,000. We were in the middle of nowhere, under the darkness of night, in the mountains. We didn't have options. I didn't press the issue, but I had prepaid the correct fee for a room that was advertised as something it wasn't and for my clearly specified family size. Normally, I'm not too difficult to please, but raising the cost 50% is not acceptable. Apparently, if I had read the comments on Yanolja, I would have known it's a fairly regular occurrence at that pension house. So, friends, it's a lovely area. It's close to the ski slopes. The rooms were warm, but sparsely equipped and some patchwork evident on walls, ceilings, and bathroom tiles. It wasn't terribly obvious. It was clean. Just be aware there may be a discrepancy in what you have arranged. Normally, I post lots of photos but the confusion wasn't conducive to allow it.
