It's such a cool placeπ. This is a guesthouse run by a couple who has traveled around the world, so there are travel-related props, paintings, and photos throughout. The couple's travel book is on the bookshelf, so if you read it, your desire to travel will increase 200%. It's cute and quiet, so it's great to rest. Yeongjin Beach is right in front, and if you like walking, it's a 40-minute walk to Jumunjin Market (not the raw fish center, but the seafood market!), so it's a good place to get some raw fish.

We wanted to write a review as most on Google are quite old. Pole Pole guesthouse was recommended by friend of a friend, expat locals of Gangneung. We enjoyed the downstairs room for 2 people, bunk beds but very comfortable, good storage despite small size of the room. It felt like we had our own "tiny home" , as the lounge and deck were open and free for us to use. We only saw the upstairs dorm guests for breakfast time and shared chatting.Paule and Ole are a lovely hospitable couple who have travelled the world, and the guesthouse reflects that. We did our washing by hand but Paule set up a spinner to ensure everything dried overnight. We went swimming and walking at the beach and relaxed in this quiet spot. Ole generously shared a lift to Gangneung town and gave us some precious time sightseeing and directions to excellent chai cafe.On our check out, Paule gave us a lift to bus stop- we felt care and kindness from them both.Please support the local small businesses in Gangneung - check the delightful market in town.Friendly people of Korea, thank you very much!Pole Pole guesthouse is a great place to relax and rejuvenate!π

It is a very friendly, clean and quiet guesthouse. I highly recommend it to those who do not like noisy places.An unexpected morning breakfast with high-quality hand-drip coffee beans and egg toast, plus the kindness of the owner ^^ It's the best as a 2-day and 1-night retreat.
