Double room was too tiny for my wife and I even though we're Asians. Can't imagine how it would be like for Caucasians,

I had a really nice experience at the rise. I didn't use the self check in just went up to the desk and they were so nice and helpful. They let me check in 5 hours early, I did have to pay a small fee but that's fair enough as it was very early. The breakfast was really very good and the room was small but very clean has everything you need. The location is close to the subway station and the keihan line, and easy to walk to Umeda and if you enjoy walking it's about 30 minutes to Namba. The reception will greet you every time you walk in and if you greet them back with a smile they will appreciate it.Yes it's a red light kind of district but it's super safe, I walked around at night and there's lots of tourists out and just regular people, it's classy and not seedy at all. There is a coin laundry on floor 3 which is useful. The Rise is a compact hotel so it doesn't have a pool or gym but for the price which is super affordable, it's a nice place to stay and I'll definitely stay there when I come back to Osaka.

Awful hotel, AC doesn’t work properly, staff just under mediocre.Hospitality at its worst, at this point I don’t know if they are trying or this bad service just comes naturally. Would probably only stay here if it was the last hotel in Osaka though I would consider the Dog pound a couple blocks down as I am sure the room service there will probably be better…

The place is not welcoming at all, I’ve seen more welcoming government offices. You need to self check in with a machine which doesn’t work, we had to scan the passports maybe 10 times, very impersonal and cold.In nicer hotels, they let you sit in the lobby, serve you a refreshment, take your passport and do all the check in for you. You have a smile, can ask a question, they explain you the facilities etc. Here you’re on holiday in front of a computer which doesn’t work, printing you a receipt with your room number and a card. The rooms are very very small (you can barely open your luggage). It’s my first time sleeping in such a small hotel room. For the location, it’s right in the middle of the red light district with escort bars all around. You’ll have to wake up early, even if you if you are on holiday, most places checkout time is 11am or 12pm. Here it’s 10am, staff will call you at 10:10am and you will get charged extra. If you go with your friends, wife or girlfriend on holiday, don’t be cheap and get something better, you’re on holiday. If you go alone, you should know there is no proper table and space to work or do anything except a bed. You can just sleep.I put one star because the current grades are way too high.Only good thing, the room is clean but that’s just a basic requirement nothing crazy about that.

I was full aware that i am booking a 3* Hotel and a small room since everything is nicely explained on the booking site, I really don't know what people are complaining about. The location is good and the Staff is friendly, amenities are at the Front Desk like Tea and Coffee and you have a water cooker in the room in case you want some late night Ramen :DThe Room was cleaned everyday, the brushes and slippers were replaced one time in the 3 nights we stayed and everyday a water bottle joined the fridge except the 2 bottles that were already in when we entered.Would recommend any day :)
