The location is stunning although somewhat lonely and far from everything (no chance without a car), the food is great, but the rest is mediocre if not downright creepy. …

Completely overpriced around 52000yen (300€) for a night is rediculously overpriced. Some one is making a bunch of money for inheriting this piece of land. In fact doing nothing.

A hotel on Inakahama. Right in front of you is the beach where you can see sea turtles, and beyond that you can see the floating Erabu area. It's quiet and a good environment to relax. The food is island cuisine. …

I am very disappointed to have received no partial refund from the hotel, the ferries serving the island were canceled for the whole day, and therefore at midday we sent an email to explain our inability to come. They didn't want to know anything, the amount was high especially since there were 2 rooms and we were half board, the hotel being out of the center! The weather was very sunny for once but windy, the hotel is certainly good but I advise you to reserve meals once on the island, it will reduce the bill in the event of non-reimbursement!

We spent three truly magnificent days in this superbly located location. We recommend first of all to rent a car, in order to get there easily and to be as independent as possible, buses being more rare in this area. The quality of our room was very good with an exceptional view of the sea. This hotel has direct access to the beach. We recommend taking the meals at the hotel, as the dinner is exceptional with Japanese specialties and also from the Yakushima region. Of our entire stay in Japan, this is where we ate the best. Plus the kindness of the ladies who manage the hotel (conversations thanks to the translators went very well, knowing that they don't speak English), this place is a real favorite and we highly recommend it, many thanks to them !

Staff was extremely unfriendly. We didn't stay at the place. We wanted to get to the beach and thought at first that it was a public parking space. When we drove on the parking place, we weren't sure any longer and wanted to ask the staff. But before we could turn off the car, a woman stormed to us and asked us loudly something in Japanese. We tried unsuccessfully to talk to her in English and used our translator. She seemed pretty annoyed of this and her tone got even unfriendlier. She asked us, if we stay at this place overnight. We said no, we just want to get to the beach and asked her, if she call tell us, how to get there. She just shouted something in Japanese and waved us rudely away.We never met such a rude Japanese person before and were extremely glad that we didn't stay at this place

We visited this place in late August. Unfortunately when we arrived the lady running the hotel told us that everything will be shutdown for the next 3 days because of a taifun. We did not feel to be welcome! My "grib-files" of the region showed kind of "good" wind for the next days and some rain, but nothing serious. After some discussion with ourselfs we decided to stay and not leave this beautiful island in panic as recommended by our host. And believe it or not, we had three of our nicest days of our vacation on Yakushima. We were lucky having a rental car, so we were not dependent on the kind of remote facilities of the hotel, Rooms where fine, even though we had no room service due to the predicted taifun. Breakfast was very nice japanese style. Sadly there was no Onsen to be available for the non traditional rooms I guess, because I remembered we booked the hotel, because we saw pictures of an Onsen. But maybe we had been wrong in this. The beach in front of the hotel is very nice, but be aware, the sand is quite rough in some areas of the beach.
