We had a fantastic 3 night stay here.It is simple accommodation with comfortable futon style beds on the floor and sizeable rooms. It’s a small guest house with four guest rooms that open out on to a common area. Guests have a shared toilet and bathroom but there was never an issue of having to wait during our stay. The real highlights are the meals (which are made on-site by the lovely hosts) which include an amazing multiple course dinner (see pics) and a delicious breakfast, as well as host Take-san who has excellent English and daily advice on hikes, other activities and weather conditions. It’s in a beautiful area on the south of the island with some nice local onsens nearby. Rental car is recommended to get around the island and to access popular hikes (which can be a bit of a drive). Overall very highly recommended!

Nicoichi is a sanctuary. My stay was brief but I still reached a level of serenity.Take and Tomoko are wonderful hosts. Hospitality is the vocation and they truly care for the guests. They provided me with lots of local recommendations, drove me to the Onsen, and prepared restaurant quality meals.I cannot share enough appreciation.

We stayed for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. The place had a laid back feel and the hosts were amazing with their hospitality, from their cooking, suggestions, and general friendliness. The hotel is away from the port towns so it was great for viewing the stars at night. There are several onsens by here as well. We rented a car and there was parking available a few meters away. We would gladly stay here again on our next trip!

A very nice guesthouse. It looks ordinary from the outside, but once you step inside, it's beautiful and relaxing. Both breakfast and dinner are wonderful and delicious. The owner's tourist information is also very heartfelt and excellent. The wife's care is subtle and heartwarming. To name just two difficulties, the first is that there is only one toilet, so it was very troublesome as one of us got trapped! Second, the changing room in the bathroom and the laundry area are the same, so if you lock the door from inside after taking a bath, you won't be able to go get your laundry or use the washroom...That's the only problem. Everything else is great. Please consider the flow line...

It was originally scheduled for September 14th to 16th, but due to the typhoon, we had to stay for one night. It's a small inn with 4 rooms, and although it's not as luxurious as everyone's reviews say, the home-cooked meals made with Yakushima ingredients were all delicious and well-crafted.The owner and his wife are very friendly and gave us a lot of advice about Yakushima activities. When we arrived, we were introduced to a nearby underwater hot spring, and since it was low tide, we hurried there and were able to enjoy a real hot spring under the sea. The mountain scenery was beautiful and the hot springs were wonderful. This is a great inn that you will want to stay at again when you come back to Yakushima at a different time!

This was my first time on Yakushima, and I was very grateful to the couple at the hostel for their help! They provided us with a clean and comfortable room and very delicious food, and it was very relaxing to come back here after a hard schedule including trekking during the day. When I was wondering what to do because of the rain, the host drew me a map and suggested a plan that I could enjoy even in the rain, which made me happy. When you come to Yakushima, we recommend staying here! !
