Magnificent space with large, lush gardens and breathtaking views of Mount Mocchomu. Designer buildings with large windows that keep all places connected to nature and natural light. The staff was very welcoming and helpful from our first call until after our departure. Being able to take a night bath with a direct view of the mountain and the wild plants was a delight. Beautiful terrace also on the building dedicated to the common area with a view towards the sea. Thank you for the great experience in such inspiring places!

Super tidy, self contained cabins with views of the ocean. Great part of the island to stay in as it's quieter but still a couple of food options close by. Kentaro and his team provided excellent service and warm hospitality. They provided great bentos for long walks and breakfast was generous and fresh. We will be back!

Stayed 2 nights in a simple but equipped cottage across the street, 4 min from the main accomodation, with an absolutely amazing view out to the ocean. Great for sunrise pictures. There is also a common area with a fully stocked pantry should you prefer to cook. Location is a bit further from the hikes and quieter than the port towns of Anbo and Miyanoura but the trade-off is peace, serenity and amazing views of both Mt Motchu and the ocean. Would definitely recommend planning ahead for dinner and making reservations as there aren’t too many restaurants around the area. Would also recommend getting breakfast (800 yen pp) which is delicious and convenient as a lot of places don’t open until later in the day.

Google should allow you to put 10 out of 5 stars. This hotel and experience was the trip of a lifetime. Ken and his family, who ran the hotel, were incredibly accommodating and made me feel like family.I stayed in a cabin off-site, about a 4-minute walk across the street. It was comfortable, clean, and air conditioning worked well. The location gives you incredible views of Mount Machomu, which was a treat to have breakfast in the morning and take in the sunny and rainy views. There is a bakery right next to the hotel with incredible food, coffees, and smoothies. The food was excellent, and the coffee at Shikink Yado was the best I had my entire trip. They have a fridge and snack bar you can purchase things from for a fair price. Ken speaks good English, and check-in and check out were very smooth. There are incredible waterfalls to hike and beautiful trails near the hotel to go and take in some nature. The forests of Yakushima Island are therapeutic and is the best medicine a person can take in.Thank you to Ken and his family for such an amazing stay. Their care and compassion for their tenants is truly evident, and I feel blessed to have stayed there.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming family-run hotel during our trip to Japan, and it was an absolute gem! From the moment we checked in, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable. The rooms were clean, cozy, and beautiful. What truly set this hotel apart was the warm hospitality of the people that run it. They treated us more like friends than guests, adding a personal touch that made our visit truly special. We are already looking forward to our next stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine and welcoming experience in Japan.
