Location depends entirely on what you want to do and how mobile you are. People all super friendly. A little less “in people's homes” than you might expect. But certainly not a cool hotel atmosphere. Bazin came to cook for us.

Central location in the Kagoshima City, not very close to the Shinkansen station but easily accessible either by tram or local JR-line. Also relatively close to the port. The house already shows its age but the stay was comfortable, everything necessary was in working order. The owner was super-friendly and helpful, helping to guide to and introduce the local goods in town. No meals were provided but tea, coffee, hot water as well as microwave and toaster were available.

Mr. Nakazona is a wonderful host and was very accomodationing with our check in time. he gave us recommendations for the local area and I even had a chance to talk and have a drink with them. The walls are thin, but everyone is quiet at night, so sleeping is no issue. The futons are comfortable and I was happy with the size of the room. It's a great bargain and you should definitely come here!

A remote inn for overnight stays. Most of the customers were foreigners, probably because it was listed in a foreign guidebook. Certainly, this is a ideal place for foreigners who like Japanese houses to stay at a low price. The owner is a pure Japanese and simple man who runs the restaurant. The stairs to the second floor have handrails, but they are steep, so be careful if you have difficulty walking. It's also good that the Kagorin port is nearby.

We had a wonderful stay by Mr. Nakazono. He was incredibly friendly and helpful. One thing that particularly impressed me was that he even brought us the thermos to the port that we had forgotten. We had left it in the room when we checked out, and when we remembered, it was too late to go back. He suddenly stood at the port and had even filled the thermos flask with warm water for our baby.I can recommend this ryokan to anyone looking for a traditional Japanese experience. Here are some more details about my stay:The rooms were very clean and comfortable. They were equipped with tatami mats, futon beds, and a traditional bathroom.Mr. Nakazoni was incredibly friendly and accommodating. He was always ready to help us and give us tips about the area. The hotel is located in a quiet area, but it is still within walking distance of the main attractions.Overall, We had a wonderful stay. I can recommend this ryokan to anyone looking for a traditional Japanese experience.Thank you very much!

About 25 minutes walk from JR Kagoshima Chuo Station, about 15 minutes walk from Kagoshima Station. It is about a 10 minute walk to Sakurajima Ferry Terminal. There is a bath shop nearby. There is no elevator in the building.roomWe stayed as a couple in a Japanese-style room (on the second floor) with a toilet. The toilet is a Western style toilet. The room is a little small, but clean. The room had a futon, table, chair, toilet, sink, hand soap, trash can, air conditioner, yukata, bath towel, and hair dryer. No hand towels or toothbrushing set. There were several layers of futons, so even my English husband seemed to have a good night's sleep.bathroomThe bath and shower are shared and located on the first floor. It is divided into men's and women's bathrooms, and the women's bathroom has a lock. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and face soap. There is a washing machine near the bathroom, which you can use for free. There is also a clothes dryer, but there is a charge for using the dryer. The shower has hot water.kitchenThere is a shared kitchen on the first floor.Instant coffee and green tea are always provided. The tap water in the kitchen is drinkable.Refrigerators are shared, and there is one each on the 1st and 2nd floors.staff and servicePayment is by cash only.internetIt's speedy.
