Love the hotel. Stayed here many times. The rooms are great, but in need of some technology updates like usb powered outlets, room reservation website and check-in process. Make sure you bring your charger plug because there are no usb outlets. The check-in process is antiquated. Stayed twice during the month of October. First visit with 3 three rooms, each with a different check out date took 3 staff members to figure out. Received a print out of active reservations that included cancelled rooms mixed in with active reservations. The reservations weren't sorted in any order that made sense. Hence the staff confusion. Twenty minutes later and manually writing the rooms down on paper cleared the confusion. Checked-in for a 2nd visit, 3 rooms again, two check out one day earlier than the third room. Went a bit better, but still took 12 minutes. Had to pay for each room individually. The check-in process and reservation website needs some serious improvements. Despite the issues, still a great deal for the Tokyo area.

They no longer allow 100% Disabled Veterans to sleep at their hotel. It’s a shame they allow all sorts of civilians, embassy personnel, and DOD Employees the privilege of utilizing their services but the people who actually earned it the most aren’t welcome. If you’re a veteran and their discrimination is affecting you please let it be known on here, TripAdvisor, and everywhere else you possibly can, because it’s not right that 100% Disabled Veterans can’t rent a room and utilize a MRW facility.

4/5 Stars - Mixed Feelings: New Sanno Hotel's ChangesI recently returned to the New Sanno Hotel after a year away from Tokyo and was surprised to find significant changes. While still offering the best value for its venue, some updates left me feeling underwhelmed.Positives:- Convenient location- Clean, spacious rooms- Friendly staff- Excellent value for priceNegatives:- Changes to food menu: Limited options and lower quality- No more breakfast buffet; only continental breakfast buffet- Steak and eggs quality significantly lower than before- Strict checkout policy: $10/hour past 11:00 AMCheckout Experience:I was disappointed to discover the new checkout policy. When I complained, the front desk staff were unwilling to accommodate my request for a later checkout. Only after insisting on speaking with the front desk manager was the $10 charge waived, and I was granted an extra hour until 12:00 PM. When I offered to pay $10 for an additional hour, they agreed to 1:00 PM.Suggestions for Improvement:- Reconsider the breakfast buffet options- Improve steak and eggs quality- Review checkout policy to ensure customer satisfaction- Communicate changes to returning guestsVerdict:Despite the changes, the New Sanno Hotel remains the best value for its venue. However, the altered food menu and strict checkout policy left a sour taste. I hope the management will revisit these changes to ensure a welcoming experience for returning guests.Recommendation:Still recommend the New Sanno Hotel for its location, cleanliness, and value. However, be aware of the changes and plan accordingly.I appreciate the New Sanno Hotel's efforts to improve, but hope they'll reconsider some of these changes to maintain their high standards and customer satisfaction.

Great location - an 8-minute walk from Hiro-O station and a 2-minute walk to Family Mart - and a great price! It's hard to find any hotels at $86/night, especially during the peak season. All the staff were very professional and courteous. My family and I will definitely come back in the future.

The hotel experience was the great get-away experience which we always feel. But the "Pacific Standard Restaurant" was a sad downgrade from the previous venue. …
