An incredible experience that I recommend to everyone.Room with 2 beds and tatami floor to put 3 futons (we were 4 people)The girl who served us was super friendly and attentive and tried very hard to communicate with us in English. We were with a person with a bad stomach and they prepared white rice and a separate soup for her. They worried about us all the time at dinner time and if they saw that we weren't eating something they asked us if we wanted something else from their options. The quality and quantity of the food is incredible. If you eat breakfast, they give you the choice between Japanese or Western breakfast. As for the Onsen area, we have booked as soon as we arrived. At night we went outside and the next morning inside. If what you are looking for is a private onsen this is the place. The outdoor onsen is incredible, you have a pool and an outdoor shower totally to yourself. You can go completely naked because no one will see you. To go to the onsen they will leave you with a type of traditional robe so that you are comfortable. The only downside is that our bathroom didn't have a shower. But we took a shower when we left the onsen since they have showers equipped with all kinds of products. If you want to live a unique experience this is your place.

It took about an hour and a half from Kanagawa on the Tomei Expressway. There was a parking lot, and the path from the parking lot to the entrance was lovely. As I walked along the stone pavement, I saw a well-maintained entrance. The customer service at the front desk was polite and gave a good impression. Best of all, the bath was wonderful. Even though it was a private bath, there was an indoor bath and an open-air bath. Recommended for families and couples as well. The hot water was just right and I was able to relax and sleep soundly. The front staff speaks English, so I think it's good for foreigners as well. The room was clean and had everything I needed, but not too much. There are 3 types of private baths for 6 rooms, which is more than enough. It was a pet-friendly hotel, so next time I would like to bring my dog as well.

I spent a day with friends in Hakone, staying in the hotel. Check-in at 6.30pm. They kindly postponed dinner to 7pm, served at the table in the common room. …

I just had a nightmare experience in this ryokan. I’ve booked a room through Booking and around noon yesterday I came with my partner and left our luggages at the hotel. We also scheduled with the staff our onsen for the evening so we thought everything was ok. Then we returned around 5pm and the person at the reception was changed meanwhile. A lady. She told us she doesn’t have our reservation in her system, and even though I’ve showed her our booking number and payment receipt refused to help us and give us a room in a second ryokan they owe unless we payed 15000 yen… which is insane since we’ve already payed 12000 yen for a room that doesn’t exist in their system… but ok, however, after 2 hours wasted in useless discussions, we’ve managed to get a refund through Booking since there was an evident error with our reservation and we wanted to proceed in booking their room in the second hotel… but tadaaan! Now the price is 18.000 yen. It’s disgusting how those wanna-be “Entrepreneurs” try to take advantage of people like us in trouble. I’m just adding some more particulars: the ryokan is in the middle of nowhere and it got extremely difficult to find an alternative since we didn’t have a car and it was late and dark outside (also raining). No help at all. They just wanted to rob us. Btw, I took some pictures of the hotel’s hall, just to show you guys what you’re going to expect by a 12000 yen ryokan. Yes, the walls were covered of mold and insects.

Very pleasant stay and a nice breakfast. Bath was warm and relaxing. Staff were polite and helpful.Main issue I encountered was the Onsen is rather inconvenient to get to from the bus stop and there aren't many restaurants nearby. If you are on a short stay and didn't book dinner, I recommend eating a filling meal before check-in.

Hotel room is old with wallpaper peeling off the wall, very dirty window, dead bugs in the lamp. I was hoping to get a room with a sliding paper door and a breakfast nook like in the photo I saw online but instead it just had a sliding window leading to a dirty window, not a nice view or anything like that... Needing to reserve the onsen for a shower / bath is inconvenient cause it means you can't stop by your hotel for a shower on a hot summer day any time you want, you can only shower in morning or at night. The onsen water wasn't very hot and the outdoor one had bugs in it. The sauna wasn't an actual sauna, just a box with a thermostat (like a piece of technology to sit in, not a proper room with hot coals or anything). I don't think this hotel room was worth the price which was over $200. I think you can find better in this area for a similar price. On a plus side, I felt the staff was friendly and I think the breakfast was pretty nice. I also enjoyed the tea and cookies they put in the room.Jsyk there is no room service but they do enter your room each day for a tea and cookies refill, plus new towels. Just so you know not to leave anything embarrassing out...Also the location is up high on a hill in Gora, so you either will want to pay for taxis (which is cheap, about 500 yen to get to the station from the hotel) or be able to walk up inclines for say 15 minutes. My husband and I were both okay with the inclines so no issue here. There aren't sidewalks, but there isn't much traffic either, so it's not too bad.

I was impressed by the warm customer service of the woman at the front desk, Ms. Thor, who is from Mongolia! This star is dedicated to her. I think it's a hidden gem as you can stay in Hakone for this price and even rent out the hot springs! But after all, it's Thor!
