Our stop at Jophira Tintin beach and our visit to the Mentawaï with Raoul were exceptional moments during our trip to Indonesia (Sumatra and Java).The beach is great for disconnecting and spending some relaxing time and regaining some comfort. We saw 2 turtles snorkelling, spent good evenings around a guitar and songs, enjoyed fish at the barbecue, etc... The beach and the area is well maintained and cleaned after each tide/storm.The 3 days spent with the Mentawaï were also a fabulous time that I recommend everyone to try.Thank you Raoul, Putra & the others for your welcome in Jophira, we have excellent memories.Mie Goreng & Tomas Leaf Monkey!

In Jophira Tintin you will be tintin for "the superb coral reef" which is practically non-existent, and fairly poor underwater visibility.This is part of the fake news broadcast by this Guest house, like at Tintin Homestay

We let ourselves be guided by Raoul throughout our 6 days with him.It all started with a trip to the Mentawai Islands to meet the flower man tribe and then we ended with 4 days on the deserted beach of Jophira Tintin.There is only one word to remember, it will be THANK YOU!We were served from morning to evening by Raoul and his team, each request was received with a smile.The bungalows are rustic, but that's the price you pay to spend time like a Robinson :)The on-site service and the beach with daily snorkeling was idyllic!Don’t hesitate to organize a tour with Raoul, he will be able to advise you and take you to the Mentawai!!It was with a heavy heart that we left this little paradise

One of the most beautiful places we have stayed while traveling Sumatra! Raoul and the rest of the staff are amazing! They took us daily to the best snorkling spots wich were amazing! The food is really good, especially diner! Really recommend this place!

Gorgeous !We were supposed to spend 2 days there and we ended up staying 1 week!Raul is an incredible man, smiling, helpful, courageous and with a sympathy rarely encountered (even for Indonesia).Always attentive, every request is heard and he always finds a solution that suits us best.Food in the morning is simple but good. On the other hand, in the evening, the meals are great! A true delight!We spent great evenings singing, playing, around a campfire on the beach, alone in the world!The beach is clean and snorkeling allows you to swim with many fish including turtles!We left with heavy hearts and we will return to Raul's without hesitation!

Place cut off from the world, no network for total disconnection. If there is a need for internet, Raoul is always available to take the boat. In 5 minutes we are reconnected to the world.Staff with great care and unparalleled kindness.Thank you Raoul and the team for these wonderful memories.

Difficult to know if the trip is worth it or not given the mixed reviews.We decided to give it a try and our only regret was that we only had one night there.If you like peaceful places and nature, go there, the place is very pleasant and easily accessible from Padang (1 hour by taxi then 1 hour by boat).An ideal haven of peace for reading and swimming far from the hustle and bustle of the cities.Contrary to the reviews I have read, our 2 bungalows were in very good condition, with a pretty terrace overlooking the sea and very comfortable beds, sheets that smell good (a rare enough occurrence in Sumatra to be underlined!) and a mosquito net.Badminton rackets, a chess game, books and snorkelling equipment are available free of charge, which allowed us to swim with 3 turtles, not an unpleasant start to the day🐢There is also drinking water, hot water, tea and very good self-service coffee (also free) to make you feel at home.The owner Raul is an Indonesian full of joy, adorable and endearing, an outstanding guitarist with perfect pitch. We spent one of the best evenings of our trip singing with him, his team and his guitar.We also did the 3-day excursion to the Mentawaï with Raoul, an unforgettable experience that we recommend!

Staying 4 days at Jophira Tintin was a great start of our trip through Sumatra. Picked up by boat for a beautiful one hour trip to this remote beach. Even no phone reception, then the holiday is really on! Instead of relaxing after a 30 hr journey Raoul (the owner) brought us with the boat to a beautiful coral riff with hundreds of fish. Jetlag gone, the fun had started.We had lots of sun but also some rain now and then but Raoul and his team entertained us with cooking together, playing games and we jammed with some guitars in the evening.It's a basic accommodation (beds are good!) but the nature, beach, atmosphere and the team made it a wonderful stay.Thanks to all at Jophira Tintin!

What a nice place. Raoul, his wife and his team take great care of you. We were lucky enough to be able to go with him to meet the mantaways. Unforgettable! All walks were done in complete safety. The icing on the cake is that Raoul does well in French. Joy of life, smiles and real laughs are on the program with the added bonus of very good cuisine with guitar at the evening. What happiness! Go there and come from Daniel 007 and Isabelle. We traveled a lot in Asia and Raoul was one of the people we left with tears in our eyes.

Bungalow in poor condition, holes in the roof, as well as all the surrounding infrastructure, impossible to swim, there are only dead corals, too expensive for what it is. The photos are beautiful but it's really misleading or for those who want to isolate themselves completely in a backpacker style, which is what we did at the start of our trip but not to end like that (maybe I'm getting old..) . The boss seems nice, but paid 42€ per night including meals...and in addition to go to another beach every day which is superb you have to pay 100,000 rupia each time. We stayed one night (4 nights originally planned). Very disappointed but that's my personal opinion.

The Bungalows are basic but with the charm of a place totally preserved from mass tourism. A magnificent, authentic view. The food was the best we had in Sumatra. Our 2 children were sad to leave this adorable family. Thank you for so much attention.I totally recommend this guesthouse. Raoul and his family are adorable, caring, always worrying that everything is fine. They spoiled us more than expected. The Bungalows are basic but with the charm of a place completely preserved from mass tourism. A magnificent, authentic view. The food was the best we had in Sumatra. Our 2 children were sad to leave this adorable family. Thank you for so much attention.
