Spectacular place.Traditional Japanese hot baths.They welcome you at the entrance, guiding you through the check-in, instructions, and a map of the rooms.They walk you to your rooms and provide hot tea and answer any questions you have.If you don’t want to use the public baths, you can reserve times for the private bath.Rooms are traditional (basic) but amazing views of the grounds (ponds with koi fish and trees). There is an AC in the room and a bathroom (they call the hot springs baths, so don’t get confused).Breakfast and dinner are included in the stay. They are not Western meals, be prepared for interesting foods.You sleep on traditional futons and there’s not a lot of space for luggage. Grab an extra pad in the closet if the floors are too hard.The hot spring baths are amazing for a soak and a shower.

It was a wonderful inn. I think it can be said that it is one of Japan's most well-established inns, full of history and aesthetic sense. This is a facility where Japan's leading celebrities, such as Yokoyama Taikan, Akutagawa Ryunosuke, and Shibusawa Eiichi, stayed, and each building was expanded during the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa periods, so you can enjoy guest rooms that reflect each era. . The paulownia building in particular is built facing the pond in the inner garden, and you can see the colorful colored carp below. Not only the rooms but also the baths are wonderful. The hotel has four large public baths, and there are also two types of private baths. In particular, the Tenpyo bath, which was completed in the early Showa period, has been designated as a registered tangible cultural property, and the beauty and form that can be seen throughout, as well as its majestic space, will take your breath away. The style is an undisputed 5 star. On the other hand, I would like to see improvements made in the minor software aspects so as not to spoil this wonderful experience. There were small areas where the customer experience deteriorated, such as weak Wi-Fi connections and low power outlets that made it impossible to charge smartphones. I think it would be difficult to manage a facility with such an elaborate structure. However, it is okay to raise the accommodation fee. I hope that it will continue to evolve as a perfect ryokan that blends old and new.

I stayed in a room along the river.It was a wonderful view, with the murmuring of the river and the red bridge behind the fresh greenery.The food was not the buffet style that is popular these days, but the old-fashioned style where the food is served in order, and it was very delicious.We conquered all 6 baths.I truly enjoyed the atmosphere of a Japanese inn.

It has a historical atmosphere with a courtyard, a koi pond, and a breezeway.I forget the time when I sit on a chair and look at it.On the other hand, the renovated rooms and baths are brand new and comfortable.many bathroomsThere are 2 large public baths, 2 open-air baths, and 2 private baths, and the large baths can be used overnight.The bathrooms are not very large, but each one has its own personality.The spring quality is smoothIt's called a hot spring for beautiful skin.As expected from Izu's famous hot springsThe men and women in each bath alternate depending on the time of day, so if you want to take a bath in all of them, you'll need to plan accordingly.Some of the baths seem to be lower than the pond and have windows that allow you to see the carp underwater.Don't expect much from the foodAlso, it can't be helped because it's a hotel along a river, but you can hear the sound of water all the time, so it feels like it's raining.Not to mention that you can drink coffee...

Incredible ryokan, a suspended moment in an intimate place. We were accompanied by attentive and caring staff, attentive to the smallest details, such as the feeling of coming home.We chose to privatize an onsen for 45 minutes for 1100yen, a very good choice if you have tattoos or if you don't want to undress in public.The room, a setting surrounded by greenery, we clearly never wanted to leave this place that we will keep in a little corner of our heart.We will come back for sure ❤️

This historic inn was founded in 1872 and is registered as a national tangible cultural property. It is said that many famous people have stayed here, including Ryunosuke Akutagawa, Taikan Yokoyama, and Eiichi Shibusawa. The buildings and gardens are well preserved and maintained. I was also able to stay at a tangible cultural property and take many photos. The landlady was friendly and we were able to talk about various things. It was a good memory.
