It is a very retro-style B&B, with the feel of a traditional Japanese home. The small courtyard on the first floor and the attic on the second floor are filled with the scent of tatami mats. Even if you stay in the room all day, you will be very comfortable~The old couple who own the house are also very kind and friendly!The only small drawback is that the transportation is relatively inconvenient. There are all-round drug stores nearby, so purchasing is not a problem!

A great B&B with clean rooms and beautiful environment. It is very close to Hachimangu Shrine, Hachimanbori, and Mount Hachiman Cable Car Station. It is very suitable to stay here for one or two days.We drove two Sientas here, and the boss will help arrange free parking spaces.

It was a very nice guest house. The room had a good atmosphere, was clean and relaxing. They were very accommodating when I had to change my schedule at the last minute, and they were also helpful in telling me about local shops. What impressed me most was that when I told them I was going on a trip for our anniversary, they prepared a surprise for me! ! I was very surprised…! It was a memorable trip with my daughter. I'm really thankful to you.Next time I want to stay for several nights!

I had no expectations going to Mio. I have three children to look after. Just a place to rest, - I thought. On the day we arrived the house was filled with joy. The warmest welcome from the owners, a yummy loaf of artisan bread from the bakery next door, the smells of the cake shop and the canal (Hachiman bori moat) just across the street were so real and so inviting.We spent 4 days and nights at Mio.One side of the house overlooks the street full of life and sounds. Other side is quiet and peaceful. There is a persimmon tree in the backyard and it was watching my 3 year old playing with a horn beetle.I enjoyed simply being in the house, sometimes cooking, sometimes doing laundry, mostly sleeping.There was so much to do around Mio. We rode a rope way car to the mountain, ate at many local restaurants, relaxed at the beach on Biwa lake and onsen. Yet best of all was to stay in the house listening to its story a little like Totoro.My 1 year old played with a Bear she called it (Tanuki) in the garden. The living room is so spacious that my 5 year old could comfortably practice karate without any damage. I watched the rain dancing on the road. All 5 of us slept like babies getting much needed rest.I never write a review even when my experience is superb but I had to do this one.Highly recommended.

This is a lovely old folk house right in front of Hachimanbori. We stayed with 4 people and it was spacious and comfortable. The futons and baths are very clean and you can enjoy the comfort of a hotel. What I found most wonderful about this guesthouse was the hospitality of the owners. Not only did they come to pick me up from the station, but they were also more involved than the guesthouse owner, which made it a wonderful time. The guesthouse is also in a very convenient location, with a delicious cake shop next door and a craft beer shop about 5 minutes away. Highly recommended! !
