Not the usual ANA standard... old furnishings, sagging beds, old bathroom, carpet in the bathroom. This old hotel is ruining its good reputation.

First of all, let me make my conclusion. I do not recommend anyone traveling to Kyoto to stay in this hotel, especially if you are an IHG high-card member. You don’t need to expect any special benefits. We are ambassadors and there is no room upgrade at all. Here are my thoughts on this stay:1. The room is very old. If you are staying in an old room type, I advise you not to try and choose another hotel directly. The old TV in the room has poor contact and keeps making a squeaking sound.2. The plugs in the room are very insufficient. Apart from the sockets where the electrical appliances in the room are plugged in, there are no extra sockets for guests to charge. Especially there are no sockets at the bedside. You can only unplug the TV or table lamp. You have to come down to charge your phone, the functionality is very poor3. The air conditioner in the room is very difficult to use and is not cool at all. Even if it is adjusted to the lowest temperature, the temperature in the room still remains around 25. The whole stay experience is very bad.4. The breakfast items are often empty, especially the salmon, which takes more than ten minutes or more to be replenished. Moreover, the restaurant employees are older and have poor English skills. When encountering poor communication, it is not a solution to the problem. Just ignore it.5. Although there is Nijo Castle next to the hotel, it is far away from most scenic spots or shopping malls. For the small Kyoto, it is far away everywhere.6. The overall hotel staff are older, have insufficient English skills, and have low enthusiasm. They basically provide standard service with no sense of intimacy. In addition, the foreign employees hired are willing to follow you out cordially. Greet guests.7. When checking out, you don’t explain the details of the payment on the bill at all, you just give a piece of paper and rush to swipe your card. Where is the so-called Japanese service? I didn't feel it anyway.8. Since it is an old hotel and does not have modern hotel equipment, it would be great if visitors can experience the enthusiasm of old Kyoto people. However, if it is just such a cold service with old equipment, I will not come back at all. The second time.
