I wanted to like this place. They checked our bags early and brought them to our room for us, they had free non-alcoholic drinks during certain times, offered free bath salts, and were in a great location close to some wonderful places. The size was also nice for a Japanese hotel.Unfortunately our room had a distinct smell when we walked in that didn't go away during our two night stay. There were also stains on the carpet and duvet, marks on the wall, and no caulking in the bathroom (which made me worry about mold). All of the other stuff is nice, but that doesn't make up for the lack of cleanliness, which is the most important factor to me when staying in a hotel.Note that the smell can also be smelt outside, so I think it's the location, not the room. It's possible other rooms smell fine and would make this a much better place to stay.

Absolutely amazing hotel. The rooms are efficient and cozy, the shower and water pressure are amazing, the free hour of drinks is genius, and the staff are super friendly. It’s across from the park which is nice for some greenery and my room had a lovely city view. Right across from a bus stop and not far from a metro stop so it was easy to get around. Would stay here again as it was a great value

They kept my luggage for free when I arrived early before check-in and left late after checkout time. The staff speak some English, are kind and helpful. My room is newish, with clean facilities, beddings and towels. …

Location was a bit far but they have a small coin laundry room in the building. We walked about 90 seconds to a larger place with our clothes. The staff is so helpful! Breakfast is available for a small charge. It was one of our favorite places to stay

Good rooms unless you have a sensitivity to dust. Husband and I both had to take anti histamines every time we entered the room if we didn’t want itchy skin or puffy eyes. There was dust in the pendant light above our bed, behind the tv, on the bed frame, toilet button controls and on the sheets. We had stayed at 2 hotels before this hotel and 1 after and didn’t have any reactions.Asked reception if we could change rooms and they could only offer to change the sheets. We also asked if we could get the room vacuumed and we couldn’t, but they were able to offer us one to vacuum ourselves - so we did.Rooms were tidy, they had happy hour drinks in the afternoon and it’s in a good location so we tried to stay out of the room the most we could. Just a shame we were sensitive to the dust.

Excellent stay, great services and at reasonable price! At lobby, you'll have a free soft drink service and even one hour of free alcohol. I really loved the room's design and bathroom. You can tell a lot of thought is put in to prepare the room. One thing, though, I didn't know that the hotel accommodates pets, which by the way, for the period of our stay, never bothered us at all.

Not an friendly hotel. Bad service at the front desk. We asked for new towels knowing we had to pay extra for them but it was almost to much to ask for. The non Japanese lady at the desk complained in Japanese which was very rude! Yes we understand Japanese. Also saying to your customer you get less service because your in a "cheap" room is not friendly at all.We are up for eco friendly environment but not for using 1 towel for 3 days.We had fungus in the bathroom and in the sleeping area. Not a healthy place to be in for someone with strong Asthmatic problems.Besides that the room was spacious enough for us and even with my height it didn't feel small.

One of cheapest hotel in kyoto. Well, the room is small, hardly open 2 big luggage in the room, but is comfortable. Bed enough to be sleep for couple. Have toiletries.Free daily bath soap which can be pickup from hotel lobby.Free happy hour for free flow beer or sake at night, until 9pm only.Free flow drink available from morning to 12am.Staff is friendly and helpful.Overall is ok, 12min walk to kyoto stationOur room is eco cleaning room, only allow to change the towel once for 3 night stay, which is why cheaperBut I would recommend you go for twins room if possible, for a better sleep for 2 adults. But is up to you, because twins room would be slightly expensive
