Period of stay: 240909~240913 (summer)Guest House Engawa. This is one of the main reasons why I want to visit Kyoto again :-)Highly recommended not only to Koreans, but also to solo travelers (especially women) and couples!!First of all, the owners are really friendly. And the guesthouse is very friendly, comfortable, and clean.1.RoomI stayed in a 4-person dormitory. The bed was clean and had really cozy and comfortable blankets and pillows. The room always had a nice scent. The hallway was a little narrow, but there was no problem unfolding the suitcase.Even though I went in the summer, the air conditioner was always on 24 hours a day, so it was cool and comfortable. All of the room guests were quiet and friendly. I guess it’s because the atmosphere of the accommodation is comfortable! Disposable earplugs, hangers, mirrors, tissues, single-person stands, etc. are all provided. There is nothing missing in the bathroom or shower room, so you can just go to the bathroom.Toothbrushes, toothpaste, cleansing products, and even sanitary pads were provided, so I was impressed by the attention to detail. ㅠㅠ♡2.ServiceThe owners are really, really, really kind... I'm so moved. ㅠㅠ♡When I first arrived, he smiled brightly, gave me water, kindly showed me how to use the accommodation, gave me a map, and gave me information on recommended Kyoto stores and seasonal tourist attractions. He also gave me a bunch of photos of Kyoto that he had taken himself (laughter). You are a professional photographer. Beautiful photos of Kyoto still hang on the embankment.also! Please also provide free night tours. We drive around Gion Street and explain it to them (mainly the areas where geishas hang out!), and also take us to the best night view points in Kyoto. It's a difficult place to get to by bus or taxi, but it's a really pretty night view observatory!I was so satisfied and grateful that I gave a small tip out of good intentions. This is a night tour that is more rewarding than a paid tour, so be sure to sign up :-)3. LocationIn fact, the main reason I stayed at this guesthouse for 4 nights was because of its location! It takes 5 minutes to Cheongsu-ji Temple (Kiyomizu-dera) and 7 minutes to Gojo-zaka bus stop. I recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy Cheongsusa Temple! And the Gojozaka bus stop was very convenient and nice because buses that go to most tourist destinations stop there!!I really want to go again.Especially for Korean female travelers who go to Kyoto alone like me!! I recommend it!!You will feel as cozy as if you were at home!!♡

We couldn't have dreamed of better!A typically Japanese room ideally located for visiting Kyoto and an adorable and attentive host.Mr. Li is extremely kind and always available to give us good addresses (visits, restaurants, little-known events, etc.)Everything was perfect, we only had one regret: not having stayed longer!

Stayed for 3 consecutive nights at a cheap inn with the best service within walking distance of Kiyomizu-dera Temple.I was a little nervous as it was my first time in a dormitory, but the service from the owner and his wife was really great, and I felt relieved when I left. She was very kind and had a wonderful smile, and the warm and attentive service made it a very memorable trip. I'm really grateful to the owner and his wife! The hotel was located on a back road from Chawanzaka, so it was a little hard to find, but my wife came to pick me up at Chawanzaka. In the evening, the host planned a free night tour and took us to hot springs, Maruyama Park, Gion Shirakawa, and Shogunzuka. The husband loves photography, so he told me about the photo spots he visited. The female dormitory is located below the entrance floor, so you will have to go up and down some steep stairs. There are 2 sets of bunk beds, accommodating a total of 4 people. The beds and futons are clean and there is no need to worry. Free bath towels, face towels, and Samue-style pajamas (I didn't think there would be any towel pajamas because the accommodation fee was so low, so that was a relief). During your stay, there is one free laundry service for clothes and underwear. Towels will be replaced free of charge upon request. There is an outlet and a mini fan at the foot of the bed. There is a light and a small mirror near the head, allowing you to apply makeup. There are also earplugs. I could feel the bed shaking when someone was tossing and turning, which was a bit disturbing. The toilet and bathroom are also clean. There are two toilets and one bathroom, which guests can use at different times. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are provided. There are two washbasins, but they were located too high for me to use. There are also affordable lotions in the wash basin. There is a kitchen, but no dining room. When you try to eat, it's small and a little difficult. Other guests seemed to be finishing their business outside. Free drinks such as tea and drip coffee. There is also a refrigerator available for guests to use.If you have strong legs and don't have any problems living in a dormitory, I don't think this is the best place to stay. I would definitely like to use it again!

I was lucky to find this accommodationIt has everything so you can just come in person.Guest houseAnd the owners of the accommodation are really friendly.I can feel that they are trying to help guests in both material and spiritual ways so that they can have a perfect trip beyond simply being friendly.I received a lot of recommendations for places that are not famous among tourists and got a lot of useful tips, so I had a great time traveling around.I went when the cherry blossoms were just about to bloom, but they kept updating me on places where the cherry blossoms bloomed early. One of the reasons I want to come back to Kyoto

The location is incredible, practically at the gates of Kyomizudera and close to many other incredible temples. If walking is not a problem you can go from Gion to Heian Jingu. I advise you to take the night tour that Mr Li provides. He will tell you local stories and show you details that the unsuspecting eye won't notice. Very friendly and welcoming, Mr Li was a fundamental part of the great experience I had in Kyoto. Thank you and see you next season!

It was very interesting and happy to hear it.Wish you and your family good health
