There are not enough words to describe how special Hotori Villa is. Yuri, Sayuri, and Mikko went above and beyond to make our stay special - from making multiple dinner reservations for our group, to the beautiful morning breakfasts, to all of the small details, like coffee and tea, afternoon treats and providing all the little special amenities we might have forgotten (they even had pajamas). The location was perfect - we were able to walk to all of the destinations on our list. This was a wonderful place to stay. I can’t wait to return to Kyoto, and when I do, this will be where I stay. Thanks for making us feel at home, in your beautiful home.

Hotori Villa was our FAVORITE place to stay in Japan. Yuri, Mikko, and Sayuri were the most perfect hosts. Everything in the home was immaculate. There was no detail spared in this beautiful home. The location is perfect. The chef made the most magical breakfasts. If we ever get the opportunity to visit Japan again, this will be our first stop. I promise you will not be disappointed. It was PERFECT!

One of the best part of our family trip in Kyoto was staying in Hotori. The building is stunning with beautifully crafted details. All amenities you need are provided. The host Ms. Sayuri was very friendly and helpful and also the concierge was very responsible for your needs and questions. My toddler loveed the toys and book specially arranged for our stay. Would definitely recommend friends and family to stay in Hotori if they will travel to Kyoto~

[Hotori January ¥55,500]A renovated townhouse that rents out a single building.I used this with my family for our anniversary. We looked for a place to stay near Gion, and since we had the opportunity to do so, we chose a townhouse that was typical of Kyoto. There are many good hotels in Kyoto, but I would like to recommend this one above all! !When I asked him if I wanted to surprise him,Please suggest kimono dressing and rickshaw.Kimono dressing at the inn (Kimono dressing starts from ¥17,330 per person, hair set included)Rickshaws stand by in front of the inn (hourly rate + ¥1,000)The concierge made this reservation for me!I was very satisfied and would definitely like to go again! !

Although it was a bit of a walk from the station, the interior, facilities, and design of the inn itself, as well as the staff's hospitality, were top-notch. This is an inn I would definitely like to stay at again.

Stayed for 3 nights. 5 family members. Hotori provides everything you need, a spacious and cozy Machiya house with a large living room (and a tree!), dining area with a well equipped kitchen, a library with interesting book collections. Here you can have a small party, or you can choose to have a me time of reading books and watching tv.The actual environment is just the same as the photos shown on web (and in fact the actual size is larger than what you see from photos, I think it's perfect for a comfortable stay for up to six people). The mattress and lighting were comfortable. All of us had a high quality sleep. There is also floor heating so it should be perfectly fine even in winter. The bathroom is by far one of the most spacious bathrooms. Literally it can house 10 people inside.Staff and Concierge We were warmly welcomed by the staff. All of them speak extremely good English. Throughout the stay we were pampered by the team. Prior to our stay we had quite many email exchanges (please email them to ask anything). They always listened to our need and organized everything well. We bother them to pre-order a cake for a small birthday party and they prepared us a very delicious cake after knowing our preferred flavor. Every night when we reached back from a long trip they prepared fruits and sweet for us to enjoy and energize. Hot water always ready for tea and coffee making. We even bothered them to collect some parcels ordered online prior to our stay to save our time. They kept that in mind and helped chasing to make sure everything reached in time. All restaurants were-booked without hiccups.Overall: Free mini bar, Nespresso machines, high quality amenities, comfy furniture, washing machines, big bathroom, comfortable pillow and mattress are what we look for a high quality stay. If you have the budget and are deciding whether to choose a chained hotel suite or Hotori, Hotori is definitely the choice. They definitely deserve more people to know and it represents the beauty of small Honten.

Amazing 2 bedroom home in great location. Old geisha house that is beautiful. 2 bedrooms with 4 beds, 1 full bath and 2 toilet rooms and 1 vanity room with sink. Beautiful atrium in middle of house with a tree! Full kitchen and dining table. What really makes this place stand out are the amazing hosts. They are there to help with your every need. Immediately responding to any requests. Dinner reservations, train schedules, anything. And they deliver delicious breakfast to the door every morning. They are very kind and want to take care of your every need. They even surprised us with a cake delivered for my daughter’s birthday!

This is my second time using it.I used the hotel for the first time because I wanted to see a maiko (I was attracted to the location in Miyagawa-cho), but I was charmed by the wonderful rooms with everything in mind and the courteous concierge. Also, access to the city of Kyoto is very convenient.Since I was traveling with children, they provided toys in the bathtub and balloons in the room, which made my children very happy.I wanted to eat in my room, so I asked them to shop for dinner, and I was impressed by how they not only had everything I requested, but also created a menu for dinner. The room is also scented with aroma and is a very comfortable space, making it easy to spend time.I really recommend it.Next time I would like to bring my parents as well.

We travel quite a bit and have stayed in dozens of accommodations. Each had their charm, pros and cons. But if I had to pick a favorite, Hotori would be it.The home is so inviting, well decorated and impeccably maintained. It's truly one of those instances where I can safely say the online pictures don't do it justice. The property looks even better in person. So much thought went into every corner of the house. Our group loved it so much we extended our stay. The breakfast was great, the location was excellent and easily accessible by public transit, and their entire staff was extremely friendly and prompt. They went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed, always responded to our inquiries super fast, and even helped our group recover a wallet we had lost during our commute from Kyoto station.Hotori was the highlight of our visit to Kyoto. A beautiful property with the friendliest team running it. We hope to be back here soon.
