We stayed for one night at the Machiya and I wish it had been longer!! We really enjoyed the stay and its wonderful outdoor bathtub. The house is beautifully decorated and has all the comforts. The mattresses were very comfortable.A luxury to be able to enjoy traditional accommodation without losing comfort. We would repeat without a doubt!!

Compared to hotels near Yasaka Shrine, this old Japanese-style hotel is located not too far from the hustle and bustle. The location was great. The perfect environment for those tired from sightseeing. I almost ended up spending more time at the hotel than I expected.Beer and wine were provided as welcome drinks. The interior and exterior are both quaint and make you feel like you've had a simulated experience of an old folk house in Kyoto. However, it may just be that you didn't use it all, but please note that if you stay for consecutive nights, there will be no cleaning, so it may be different from what you would think of as a hotel.Even with that in mind, I was very satisfied.Feel the security of being at home even when traveling.Because there is no such thing as a hotel gown,It would be a good idea to prepare pajamas etc.It was great, thank you very much.

The most beautiful stay in Kyoto. The house was fantastic for a family of 4. Amenities and supplies were really lovely too. It was great to be able to travel with crowds during the day and come back to this oasis. It’s quiet and has views into the spectacular museum next door.

My family of four used it during the fall foliage season. I was satisfied with everything from the access location, surrounding environment, size, and hospitality. Personally, I really liked the unglazed open-air bath and the lounge on the second floor. I also recommend getting up early in the morning and taking a walk around the area. I would like to use it again when I come to Kyoto.
