The host are really nice and friendly guys. The wooden and stylish furniture from Bali is all over the place and just amazing. The house is rather old and a bit dirty here and there. However they were still renovating a lot when we were here in September 24.Price value was really good. We recommend coming here.

My Japan trip wouldn't of been the same if it wasn't for the mountain memories team and lodge. Their pure excitement and joy really put a smile on my face each morning as I walked downstairs for breakfast. What was to follow varied. Either a cozy day on the couch watching movies all together, cooking together, going out and sending all the best spots (the team has years of experience at Rusutsu), or just having a laugh with everyone. I couldn't recommend Mountain Memories lodge any higher, they should put 6 stars on this thing.

Both the dorms & private rooms are lovely! The beds are super comfy and spacious, and have if you're staying in a bunk the privacy curtains are great. Great showers & a huge kitchen. The living area is super cosy and there's a nice co-working table as well. The lodge is in a great location, just a 10ish minute drive from both the East & West sides of Rusutsu Resort, with mini marts and the Drug Store just a 5min drive down the road, where you can get most things you need. It's great for the summer time as well, as there's so much beautiful nature and so many hikes around. You can also go paragliding just down the road, and go to the amusement park at the resort. The owners are epic - super kind, helpful and good company. The whole place has great vibes in general. Would highly recommend coming to stay as I've had a wonderful time both in winter and summer :))

Great place with great people! Henry and Noah are the best hosts you could wish for. They were also a wealth of knowledge for local places to eat and the best Onsens to try. Friendly people and good vibes at the hostel. The location is a super short drive to the slopes at Rusutsu Resort. Great price as well. Was lucky with some great powder in late February!

My March stay at the lodge in Rusutsu was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by incredible hosts Henry and Noah, who went above and beyond to make me feel at home. Their warmth and hospitality created a unique sense of community, making it feel like I was among old friends rather than strangers. The lodge’s location is perfect for any snow enthusiast. With direct access to the mountain, I experienced some of the best powder snowboarding I’ve ever had. The quality of the powder in Hokkaido is legendary, and Rusutsu did not disappoint. Each day on the slopes was filled with exhilarating runs and breathtaking views. Moreover, the proximity to Mount Yotei provided an added bonus. Whether you’re into backcountry adventures or simply appreciate the majestic beauty of a volcano, the access to Yotei was a highlight of the trip.Beyond the physical amenities, what truly stood out was the energy of Rusutsu. There’s a certain magic in the air that blends the serenity of the snowy landscapes with the vibrant culture of the region. The lodge captured this essence perfectly, offering not just a place to stay, but an immersive experience that celebrated the spirit of Hokkaido.Overall, my stay at this lodge was unforgettable. It’s rare to find a place that combines great facilities, amazing hosts, and an unbeatable location, all while encapsulating the unique charm of its surroundings. I can’t wait to return and relive the incredible experience!

Mountain Memories definitely lives up to its name. I was lucky enough to stay there for a couple of weeks at the end of the snow season this year while nursing a torn mcl and I was so grateful to get to do so there! I felt so taken care of and enjoyed every moment at the lodge. A cozy cabin out in the farmland of Rusutsu that feels like a true home away from home because of the people. It’s a place to meet other travelers, enjoy the countryside of beautiful Japan, and have all of your ski and snowboard needs met thanks to the awesome guys who run the lodge. From lessons to rental gear to the best eats and onsens around, to finding you the best pow, these guys have the area dialed and will show you a good time :) Thank you Mountain Memories for my unforgettable mountain memories 🫶🏻 I can’t wait to come back next year! And maybe even come back for some spring or summertime Japan adventures :)

Awesome place to go if you want to slay some Hokkaido pow. The lodge has a super friendly and chill vibe. The MM crew were great at making me and everyone there feel welcome. They were on point with getting people to and from the slopes, just a few minutes drive from the lodge. If you're lucky, they might take you shredding on the hill, showing you the natural halfpipe or secret kickers ;)On your "rest" day, hit the backyard jumps or just head for a nearby onsen to recharge your legs.
