It is definitely one of the most beautiful ryokan in Japan.I would give 10 start out of 5.Nice and peaceful location, beautiful garden, a perfect combination from Hokkaido local ingredients and Italian cuisine. The private onsen in the room is just more than perfect with a stunning view.We have received the best service and warm welcoming from all the staffs. Especially the gentleman named Pun, he is with perfect English and always there to help into even little detail. We felt really grateful. We were worried from the beginning as we don’t speak Japanese but with his help we felt trouble free.Definitely recommend this place if you are in Hokkaido and we will be back for 200% surePlus the hotel arranged the taxi for us with a much better price and really helpful driver aswell. That is a huge plus.Thank you so very much

If I could give this place 6 or 7 stars out of 5, I would. This place is amazing with some of the best food I've had on a nearly month long East Asia trip. The service has been impeccable as well. The rooms have been ridiculously comfortable with great facilities, including an in-room hot spring.I will definitely come back!

Nestled by the forests of Jozankei, this ryokan offers views of beautiful foliage and tranquility. Private onsen in-room was a nice luxury and the Italian dinner and Japanese breakfast were exquisite and delicious. On a 10 day road trip across Hokkaido in autumn and this stay was so soothing. We only had time to stay one night and would love to come again.(Consider asking server to slow down dinner courses as they tend to come a bit fast).

This place somehow manages to have the food, easily Michelin star quality that I would happily pay $100 for with some of the best bites I've had in a 3 week East Asia trip, be the least impressive part of the experience. …

Hokkaido is Japan's summer resort, and within Hokkaido it is a summer resort, or rather, it is located in a location that feels like Jozankei is to Sapporo what Karuizawa is to Tokyo, and is a wonderful inn located in the more remote and less popular Oku-Jozankei area. Our satisfaction level is quite high, and our friends from Tokyo recommend us when they come to Hokkaido. The reaction is uniformly good.

I made a reservation because the food was Italian and the bath in the room was fed by a natural hot spring. At first, I felt like the inn didn't have any distinctive features, and I thought maybe I was staying at the wrong inn...However, as time passed, I realized how good this inn was. With its large windows, high-quality bedding, natural hot springs, Italian dinner, and friendly customer service, by the time I checked out, I'd already wanted to visit again.Just one thing...I feel like it would be a shame to have only water in the refrigerator in this class of accommodation.

Although I didn't go in the middle of winter when it was snowy, the hot springs in the room were great, the food, and the room had a nice atmosphere. The road by rental car is also very beautiful.

Each couple stays at Kasho Gyoen for each birthday.I am staying the night. No matter when you come, you will receive truly wonderful hospitality. The demeanor of all the staff, including the manager, is very beautiful. No matter where you meet them, they are smiling, polite, and kind. The rooms are clean and well-equipped, and the view from the window and the sounds of birds outside will soothe your soul. The indoor hot spring bath is gentle on the skin and relieves fatigue.Italian food is exquisite, with just the right amount of salt, boiling, spices, herbs, etc. It's good. For those who don't have enough, they also offer rice balls and baked sweets for a late-night snack, which is very considerate.Breakfast is also a good selection of small plates of rice. Salads, fruits, and drinks are all fresh and delicious at the buffet. There is a large fireplace in the lobby, and the scent of wood will soothe your soul. What deserves special mention is the foreign staff. We shouldn't discriminate against Japanese people, but as we live our lives, we sometimes come across situations that bother us.However, I think the foreign staff working here are learning a lot about Japanese culture and hospitality. I'm really impressed. The large garden is well maintained, with beautiful trees and seasonal flowers, and I was happy to see plants such as mint and basil growing well. This inn is a result of the education provided by the gentle, intelligent, and beautiful manager, and makes me want to visit again every time I hear about it.
