Stayed there for two nights with a group of nine people in different rooms. Food was very delicious. They offered very good vegetarian and vegan options. Keep in mind, that the food is very traditional prepared. There are different onsens included, except the one on the rooftop. I would recommend to try the rooftop one aswell, because of the view and the atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and lovely. We had a great stay.

It is conveniently located within walking distance from the station, just across the bridge and passing through the shops such as souvenir shops and cafes. The sound of the river was soothing to my ears, and even though it was a hot day, I was soothed by the blue sky, the greenery of the mountains, and the beauty of the river. The air conditioner in the room worked well, the futon was comfortable, and I had a good night's sleep after enjoying the bath. The baths are different at night and in the morning, so each has its own benefits. The woman enjoyed the lukewarm water and open-air bath on the second floor at night, and woke up in the morning to the hot water in the basement. Although the water was hot, it was soft and very nice.Amenities such as jumpers were also of good quality. The meals are carefully prepared with a focus on vegetables and have a gentle flavor. I prefer a stronger flavor, but that depends on the individual. One thing I was disappointed with was that when I had dinner at the restaurant, the conversation between the group of Japanese and foreigners next to me was very clear.Maybe they thought we couldn't understand the language, but the topics they talked about were vivid topics about work and colleagues, and I couldn't calm down as I imagined their daily lives.I understand that there are many foreign guests. I think it's a matter of manners. It's okay if a large group eats at the same time, but if there are a small number of people, it would be better to stagger the times or consider seating arrangements.Although this happened by chance, it was a relaxing inn overall, and the proprietress was kind and took a photo in front of the entrance on the way home, and told me about a delicious restaurant in the Odawara market, and I stopped by there. I went home satisfied.

The owner is ‘very’ kind. Email inquiries are quick. At the very least, please reply even if it is late. While talking with the owner, I told him that it was my birthday the day after tomorrow, and he even prepared a mini cake for dessert after breakfast the next day. The owner can only speak Japanese, but the part-time workers can speak English. Basically, you have to pay 300 yen to enter the hot springs. Of course, once you pay, you will no longer receive guidance. There are 2 rooms on the first floor and 6 on the second floor. 1 on the 3rd floor? I'm not sure about the number, but it seems like there are like this. Our couple stayed in a room on the 3rd floor, and I think they were considerate because we were the only couple on the day. Thanks to this, I felt very refreshed the next day. Now that I think about it, the room feels bigger. You can use the rooftop couple's hot spring by paying an additional 2,200 yen (2000 + tax 200). It is divided by time and can be used for 45 minutes. I use it from 9:30 to 10:15 p.m.Dinner is at 6:00, 6:30 - 8:00. Start time can be selected. You can order alcohol, but the price is a bit high. 2 draft beer and 1 Japanese sake cost a little over 2,000 yen. But since it's a ryokan, it's OK. Seems cheap for a ryokan? When I went into the room after dinner, the mattress and blanket were spread out. Experience extreme comfort. Breakfast is 8-9 am, check-out is 10 am. When I went into the room after breakfast, the mattress and blanket were gone. In the end, the traveler's job is to eat, wash, and have fun. All you have to do is work at night and pack your suitcase. Alcohol costs are calculated at check-out. When smoking, smoking can be done outside, and smoking can be done in the center of the first floor or outside.Definitely worth the money. No, on the contrary, it seems to be poor cost-effectiveness. Recommended. After a difficult trip to Japan where I had to drag my suitcase around and sleep in a small room, I decided to stop by Hakone to heal and return home. I liked it so much that I gave him a Totoro ceramic doll as a gift.

When we arrived at the Ryokan in the morning after hiking Mt. Fuji the day before, the lady (seems to be the owner) welcomed us and noticed my scratches/cuts that I got during the hike (the hiking trail includes some rock climbing, which I wasn't prepared). She immediately offered me a clean cloth to wash off the blood and Band-Aids for the cuts. She also highly praised our boys for what they achieved hiking Mt. Fuji. With this warm welcome, we started touring Hakone in a really pleasant mood :)We came back about 5pm to check in. They already put our luggage to our room (quite some as this was near the end of our two-months of travel to Asia). After a nice shower in the onsen rooms, we were invited to the dinner. The food and the service were a blast! Every piece of the food is delicious, and the presentation is like an artwork. This is exactly what you want to reward yourself after a strenuous workout :).When we came back to our room, they already made the Tatami bed ready for us. We booked the room for two adults and two kids. The bedroom has two single beds, and the living room has tatami for additional futons. We had a great sleep and were invited for a nice breakfast the next morning. When we were back, they already packed up the beddings on Tatami.Overall we had a wonderful stay in this small hotel. Not only the owner was kind, but all staff were very friendly. The location is also super convenient. Even with our luggage, we could walk to the train station (traveling with luggage on buses could be a pain sometimes in Japan).

Very traditional bathhouse with top service. Staff are super friendly and helpful even though not all of them can speak English. During winter there is no hot tap water and the room can be quite cold when it’s 0 degree outside but I guess it’s traditional house with limited insulation. Would come back for sure

Out of all the accommodations that we stayed at in Japan, this was by far our favourite! The staff and especially the manager was so friendly and welcoming. She kept making sure that we had enough clothes before we would leave for the day to make sure we wouldn't get cold, and even suggested places for us to visit. Not to mention the food was super flavourful and felt very authentic. Although be mindful the servings are quite large so it was a bit hard for us to finish everything. The room was very clean and the onsens were really nice to use. As for the location it was only a short walk from the station and is very easy to find.Overall I highly recommend it and will definitely be back here in the future!

Lovely place. Some staff can speak English, some can't, but all of them were very friendly and helpful. Location is just 5 minutes walk from the main station and bus stop on the main street. …

It is a traditional Japanese hotel. The treatment and kindness of the people who run it is wonderful. The price includes a traditional dinner and traditional breakfast. Additionally, in each room there is traditional clothing to attend these meals. It also has a traditional Japanese hot bath.
