You can see the old ideas of luxury coming through in this hotel, and it feels very much like a hotel designed to attract travelers from a generation or two ago. Unfortunately JAL City Aomori is stuck in time. The amenities young travelers take for granted (modern TV, streaming connectivity, outlets, USB ports, etc) are lacking. Worse, the whole hotel smells like smoke and our non-smoking room definitely had a smoker in it last and the room was definitely musty. Even when I had gotten used to it my body protested at the mold at the mold it detected in the air with constant Asthma issues. It was especially noticable that I started to breathe better immediately after stepping out of the hotel to eat or see the sights.Unfortunately, there's nothing the very wonderful staff can do about it. They were so kind and very apologetic when we checked out two days early, but short of tearing down and renovating the entire interior of the hotel, it felt like their hands were tied by the very building they worked in (and quite possibly the larger corporate policy guiding them).Fantastic service, care, and politeness. However in an already-damp seaside city my body would not let me stay here.

We last stayed here nearly eight years ago, and whilst it hasn't been renovated, it's spotlessly clean and well maintained and we had a pleasant two nights. The location is great - an easy walk anywhere, and staff are friendly and helpful. Nothing to rave about, but an easy stay.

the hotel is old, but it is clean. It is near the harbor with great views. The shops closed very early in the evening. The hotel car park can't take in MPV because it is too high. you have to park at the public car park near the tourist office.

Well equiped room, minimalist environment with no safety box, no disposable flip-flops, very small room with no possibilité to open a suit case.Breakfast area was very crowded every day even very early morning. Many choices for breakfast including many delicious japanese options.

The pricing and service were satisfactory. However, there was a noticeable and unpleasant lingering smell of smoke in the lobby and elevator areas. The rooms, although a bit outdated, were maintained in a clean condition.

American Family VisitingVisited over the summer in 2023 (you can find my wife's review as well and more in depth). Check in was super easy and staff were able to communicate well with a pocket translator. We were able to both ship and receive our luggage at the hotel with ease. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and secure. When planning your stay, recommend one bed per person. Loved stopping in here and visiting!An easy 15 minute walk from the station with plenty of shopping and entertainment such as the Nebuta museum, beach side park and just overall fun walk.

Stayed the king corner room on the top floor. It had a panoramic view of the bridge and the bay. Quiet. Clean. Size enough for 2 adults and a large suitcase.Bed and pillow were supportive and comfortable for a good night's sleep.The amenities included the usual ones plus mouth rinse and facial masks. Very thoughtful. Besides, the room was equipped with Dyson hair dryer. Nice.Unfortunately, safe box was only available at the lobby front desk.It's within walking distance from Aomori Station and bus terminus. Quite a few good restaurants nearby. Very convenient.Highly recommended.

Nice hotel next to the Aomori station. The building itself is a bit old, but otherwise, it's a great value hotel. I would consider it as the low ranking of the 3 stars hotels but still keeping his place.

Can’t fault the hotel at all on anything, super clean, really comfortable beds.. western breakfast was great and a block from the downtown area.. many places to choose, all super tasty and very well priced.. Aomori city deserves a visit if you’re looking for something special and the authentic cultural experience..
