I stayed here on a family trip. Since there were 20 of us, we rented out the annex and it was a little too noisy, but we had a lot of fun. I would definitely like to use it again on another occasion.

- This review is written in Korean -This place has a really friendly owner. They take a lot of care.If you want to stay near Narita Airport and want to experience an old Japanese ryokan, make a reservation.Takomachi was a quiet town. However, the performance of the air conditioner is not very good, so Wi-Fi does not reach the second floor rooms.Other than that, it's a refreshing accommodation in a refreshing town.

I met at a class reunion in elementary school. I was allowed to take it easy. It's good because it's local.

For our last days in Japan, we booked into this ryokan. We had a great time and, thanks to the owner, we discovered Japan a little more. The room was clean and spacious, the toilets and showers were also very clean. The owner showed us around the little one. Local village and offered us tea and showed these kimonos that we could try on.A very good final grade after a month in Japan. THANKS

We really enjoyed this authentic Japanese guesthouse. We needed assistance to find it since all signs and directions were in Japanese, but our hostess was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, to the point of offering to drive and …

First of all, even if you ring the chime, they won't come out. When I asked for dinner, I was told that they didn't have dinner. The room smelled a little musty. There should be wifi. I don't know the number! Tea and coffee are only available in places like cafeterias. Not in a private room. I'm restless. There is no refrigerator in the small room. I should have locked the door and left, but the kid left it open. I thought you could take all your valuables. Security is poor. There's no one at the counter! Even if you ring the chime, no one will come out.You can enter with victory! There is a key placed casually at the entrance, and you can choose anything!

Imagine: you’ve just landed in Tokyo. You'll be in Japan for a month. You have time on your hands. You're like me (you don't know any Japanese) and you're easily overwhelmed so you decide to do a self-taught Japanese language crash course before you enter Tokyo. This is your soft landing: The Masugata-ya Ryokan. (You can buy language learning books at the bookstore in the airport.)Mieko, the landlady, will take care of you. She will bring you into her kitchen and make you tea. She will show you her kimonos. Her magazines. She even drove me around the local town in her car to see the cherry blossom.Mieko's son Matsu runs a bar next door called "Jackass in the Wall" – which is a great name and he's a great host. He speaks English very well and will make you feel comfortable drinking in his bar amongst the locals that usually go there.I sincerely recommend the Masugata-ya Hotel for a slow, steady and sweet introduction to Japan.Side note: there's a cheap diner nearby called “Gusto” nearby where robots in cat outfits bring you your food which is ridiculously cheap (unlimited drinks for 300yen) and you can happily sit there for hours with no one disturbing you which is good if you need somewhere to work (or learn Japanese). The iPad where you order can be changed to English.Fond memories of the Masugata-ya Ryokan.
