Visited on a Sunday around 2pm. Unaju, 3,400 yen (extra). It was cheaper than a certain famous restaurant on the approach, and I was able to relax in a private room without having to line up outside. In front of the east gate of Mt. Narita. It is truly a hidden gem.Since it is a Showa era inn, there are no tables and only cash is accepted. There was a distinctive entrance next to the tobacco shop's counter, and there was a modest menu of food next to it.We were taken to a tatami room on the second floor facing the street, and first we were served tea. Next was a small bowl of pickles and winter melon. Around that time, a delicious smell of grilling eel came up from downstairs. I can hear the voices of children on the street from below the window, which is a relief. At first bite, it's a little small and hard. The taste isn't that great, but the atmosphere is nice and the eel tastes great. The sauce has a rather strong taste, so don't be afraid to ask for more rice or for the sauce to be thinner. Best of all, it was great to be able to enjoy it slowly and leisurely. When I checked out, the landlady gave me some disinfectant wipes in a tissue holder. It is a truly quaint space with a staircase that leads through the entrance, between the Sanwa clay and shiny black boards. I'm sure your friends from overseas will be very happy. Dishes other than eel are also affordable, so please try them at least once.Due to the coronavirus, the inn is open to only about 10 people. The appearance of the store is wonderful and will surely impress you. This is a store that I definitely want to continue.

As of March 20, 2024, the inn is still closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. You can enjoy a leisurely meal in a tasteful guest room.I would definitely like to stay there once the inn reopens.

Eel on the second floor of an inn that smells like the Showa era. The food is baked after receiving your order, so it may take a while to come out, but it's delicious. It has just the right amount of elasticity and is not greasy so you can eat it till the end without getting bored. It's not a tatami room, but they will provide you with a low chair. If you walk along the street in front of you, you will immediately enter the grounds of Shinshoji Temple.

From JR Narita Station, my husband and I took a 30-minute walk along the Koharubiyori approach to Shinshoji Temple, where we arrived in front of the main gate of Shinshoji Temple and looked for a place to have a late …

This inn is located right next to the Narita precincts and has a very retro feel.

The building has the atmosphere of an inn from the early Showa era. It looked like they were open for food.
