It was my first time using Hoshino Resorts. I don't really like excessive service, so I don't really have any problems with it, but first of all, I made a reservation with a card and paid in advance, so I can't cancel it. It's hard to use, probably because it's an early bird discount. As others have written, it's time to eat. We choose dinner, so 5:30 p.m. is acceptable, but if you go a little earlier than that, you'll have to wait outside the dining room. Best to go to Just. A large number of people were waiting.You can't choose the time for breakfast, so you can choose either 9:00 or 9:30. It was a mysterious explanation that there was no explanation and that it was to make you relax. It would have been better if they had told me this was the time because there were clearly no vacancies. The food itself is satisfying in terms of quantity and quality. I was very disappointed. If you are staying at Hoshino Resorts, it is better to avoid it. Is this really Hoshino Resort? It's such a sad place that I doubt it.I used it on the last day of my Kyushu tour plan.The order was KAI Kirishima → KAI Aso → KAI Beppu, but I at least wanted Beppu to be the first. Since it was the last one, I felt even more disappointed.First of all, regarding the location, it's nice to be able to see the ocean from the room, but it doesn't feel like anything out of the ordinary. I haven't used KAI that many times, but the KAI I've stayed in so far has been in a quiet, secluded area, so I was surprised that my impression of the same KAI could change so much.Also, I somehow felt that the customer base was lower, or rather cheaper, than in other worlds. It felt like I was suddenly thrown into a low-cost hotel that only had a buffet in the morning and at night.There was a footbath in the lobby, but the ladies were occupying it all the time so I gave up on entering.Before dinner, I went to the public bath, and it felt like a comfortable hotel's public bath, and I was getting more and more excited.I was looking forward to dinner the most, but first of all, it wasn't a private or semi-private room, but just a seat separated by a blind.And this was the worst part, was it a public bar? There was a customer next to me who was making such a loud noise that I couldn't read the atmosphere, so I ate half of the time feeling disgusted. I don't even remember the taste anymore. To top it all off, I was so drunk that I fell off my chair. It was really noisy and the worst. I asked the staff to change seats, but they did not respond immediately, and in the end, after 20.30 minutes, the noisy customers were prompted by the staff to return to their rooms. For the first time, I wanted to go back during my trip.There were too many people at the local music venue so I wasn't able to participate, so I immediately went back to my room.I feel like I lost a lot. It can't be helped since it's a fixed plan, but I don't want to use it again.It's just that the KAI I've stayed at so far has been good, and I won't know if most of them are actually like Beppu until I stay in various KAI in the future. When many people hear about Hoshino Resorts World, they imagine it to be a somewhat luxurious and calming inn for adults (I thought so), but here there is not even a shred of that image. It is a popular hotel. I don't think I would have thought this way if it wasn't for Hoshino Resorts. Maybe it was the timing, but it was unfortunate.

I love this hotel. Every staff is so friendly and one of staff at check in was able to accommodate my small requests. I didn’t mind if the request was denied. I don’t think the hotel should do everything and I understand it. I can enjoy what it is given. But honestly the hotel is worse it. I enjoyed the culture which is so different from where I live now. That’s the fun part of traveling abroad.

Stayed here for 2 nights. I was really looking forward to it because it was designed by Kengo Kuma. The building was amazing. However, the hospitality was the worst. When I returned from sightseeing after asking for some cleaning, I found that the room was almost the same as when I first started, the bed sheets were still wrinkled, there were three empty drinks on the desk, and an empty sweets bag, all clean. The garbage can was really bad, so I called the front desk and they came right away, but as soon as they arrived, the excuses started and they said it was because it wasn't written on the paper...I realized how much of a manual person I am.Even if it's half-drunk, you should be able to put it away normally if it's empty... There were other things I was curious about, too.I was astonished.

To be honest, I was a bit surprised as I saw some extremely bad reviews, but other than the fact that it's a little expensive, I think it's pretty good. Above all, all the young staff worked hard. For reference, there are many cheap and delicious izakaya and robatayaki restaurants along the 10-minute walk to Beppu Station, so I think you might consider eating dinner outside.
