Very nice hotel. The room is small but clean and contains everything needed inside. The breakfast and dinner is a masterpiece, always fresh and delicious. The stuff is polite and helpful. The location is the best, right next to the slope. Highly recommend this hotel.

Shiga Kogen Olympic is one of the most prominent hotels in the Ichinose area of the ski resort. It's conveniently located next to the slopes and some restaurants. The rooms are admittedly very dated but they will still do the job of giving you a restful sleep. However, it's amenities are great with a large onsen in the basement, a mini shop (that's reasonably priced!), a ski rental shop, vending machines on each floor, and a full service buffet restaurant. The restaurant buffet package is absolutely worth it given the quality and variety of food both for breakfast and dinner. If you're heading off from the hotel, they also provide luggage courier services to your next destination at a reasonable price.Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful in all aspects of your stay including providing information and services to help you get to surrounding attractions. If you don't mind a fairly basic stay, this hotel delivers great value and huge convenience.

There is breakfast included, which is buffet style and has quite a lot of options. The hotel is located directly opposite the Ichinoyori Family Ski Resort. You can reach the ski resort just across the road, which is very convenient. The counter staff are very friendly. Although it is difficult to communicate in English, they will try their best to communicate with you in English or Google Translate. The heater was not warm enough at night, so it would be warmer to put on an extra quilt.

The location was great right in front of the ski slopes! .The facility feels old-fashioned, but I think it's the same everywhere, so it didn't bother me.I didn't have any particular concerns about the breakfast buffet, and I enjoyed it.The smoking area is outside, so I think it would be a pain for people who smoke in the middle of winter.

I stayed here with 4 friends. The food was delicious, the room was clean compared to other hotels in Shiga Kogen, the access to the slopes was very good, and above all, the staff were very kind and nice.Furthermore, the price was very reasonable. This time, I made a reservation for 5 people through Booking.com, but one of them got infected with the coronavirus just before the day of their stay.So I tried to cancel for one person, but since it was an overseas reservation site, they wouldn't accept cancellations for one person at all.I was in trouble, so I consulted with the hotel staff, who contacted the reservation site again and again despite their busy schedule. I was very grateful that I was able to cancel for one person. This was the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in, with the most friendly staff.I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here as it was the most affordable during the time we were looking for a place to stay in Shiga Kogen, and we had a big group, so we feel that it's very affordable for each pax.We also saw that it has onsen and would love to experience the onsen and sleeping on futon and tatami, and there were rooms with private bathroom too, so it was a good deal.Prior to staying here, I saw many low star reviews and wasn't expecting much. But after staying here, I'm glad to say that I had a very good experience staying here, and I will show you what I know that the hotel has to offer, as I want to do a detailed review so that it can help future guests on making decisions for booking here.-----CHECK IN-----Check in was smooth and easy. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. They know some English , and there were some who knew more fluent English too.-----Onsen-----Make sure to pay for the onsen too. It is a very nice place to have a bath and dip in the onsen after a long day skiing. They provide free yukata but you have to take it from the lobby and usually it is all gone very quickly, especially for the 170cm yukata.-----Staff-----The staffs at the concierge are all amazing. We would like to specially thank Keiko ( けいこさん、ありがとうございました) for her helpfulness during the first few days. Her English is very fluent too. We asked her about the bus and how to get to the onsen monkey area. You can actually also use Google maps. It will tell you the exact bus stops but I think the bus that the hotel mentions has a roundtrip discount. We would like to thank also Kaho and Thiharu (かほさん と ちはるさん, ありがとうございました!) For helping us with checking out, dealing with the Yamato transport, and the keys and hotel buffet booking, other restaurants dinner reservations, convenience store purchase, and being so friendly and helpful! And also the lady who cooks the pancakes in the morning breakfast buffet, is super energetic and cheerful that I enjoy greeting her every morning at the pancake station.
