This felt like one step up from a hostel. No house keeping in 2 weeks, dusty rooms and average breakfast. No other food on offer and bar taken over by staff. Probably much better accomm in the town for the same price. Plus no shuttle on offer up the hill to the ski fields.

ReviewAn honest guest review. The worst accomodation experience I have had in Japan in ten years l.The dusty dirty room was not serviced once in two weeks even asking at the front desk multiple times, hopeless. The bar was over run by the staff and it felt like the paying guest were unwelcome house guest at their home.I also agree with the other one star reviews as they are consistent with my own experience.

We can relate to EK’s 1 star review. We had the same experience.I will leave an honest review. We can’t believe that some of the 5 star reviews are genuine. Also, their website needs updating as it’s misleading.-Rooms are filthy- black mould on shower curtain, stains all over carpet, walls and furniture.- breakfast was terrible with very low quality food. Some of the hot food was burnt. Website states fresh baked goods, this is not the case.- location of the property/ access to ski hill- steep climb/busy road and not a 3 minute walk. Mentioned this to the manager, he never offered free shuttle service which is mentioned in the brochure that was in our room. There is no free shuttle service to other resorts either which contradicts what’s mentioned on their website.- Customer service?? What customer service?? With 2 exceptions- Japanese woman working the front desk embodied true Japanese graciousness and kindness AND Jeff, who checked us in.When we checked in staff were lying all over the seating, bare feet on the throw blankets, one female staff member was picking her toes 🤢. When Jeff introduced us to the staff, they never acknowledged us, they continued scrolling on their phones. On their website Morino Lodge states they want staff to mingle with guests, and for guests to feel at ease, but this does not occur. Guests are not acknowledged, staff dominate the bar and lounge areas to the detriment of paying guests. Conversations between management and staff should be kept private and professional. On several occasions the manager was overheard swearing at staff.- the first 2 days of our stay, our bathroom flooded with putrid, dirty water. The manager said that this had happened in other ensuite rooms and was caused by pipes having moved by the recent earthquake. We asked to be moved to a comparable room, but were told there was not one available. We requested a refund and the owner agreed to refund our money. Fortunately we found AMAZING accommodation near by at The Address in Myoko which we would highly recommend.

The spacious lounge has a cafe bar and is very comfortable. The room is also perfect. There is a hot spring (also an open-air bath) within the facility, so I was able to relax. Breakfast is buffet style and has a lot of variety. Many of the guests and employees are foreigners, so you can enjoy the atmosphere of another country. There was also a Japanese staff member on duty, so I didn't have any trouble even though I couldn't speak English at all.

We absolutely loved staying here for our time at the Myoko snow. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with any needs we had (local knowledge, snow/hiring info, transport around the area). We really enjoyed the socialising at the bar at the end of the day and great breakfasts!
