I can't speak highly enough of the experience we had at Hamon. The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable of the area.Being slope-side at Tsugaike was a great perk as well for riding down to the gondola and right back into the lodge at the end of the day. Hamon also provides shuttle services to the other resorts if you sign up by a certain time the night before or you can easily take the resort shuttle down at Tsugaike which is included in your tickets.They do serve dinner if you sign up by a certain time each day and those dinners averaged around 2000-3000 yen. The dinners were amazing and they served plenty of food. Their dining area served complimentary breakfast each day. After a long day of skiing, their bar would open up at 3pm for snacks, drinks, and appetizers.The lodge was very clean and comfortable. They have onsens and private shower rooms. They also had a laundry machine that we were able to use before leaving and you can buy detergent from them for 100 yen. They also have a storage area and dry room for storing your snow gear after a long day of skiing.We had a memorable experience in Hakuba at Hamon and look forward to staying again in the future.

Absolutely LOVE this place! Had an incredible stay at Hamon, and recommend you do the same. The staff are good people and very helpful, the facilities are clean and well-kept, and the food is delicious and filling. The lodge is ski-in/out to the Tsugaike mountain ski area, with easy access to the other mountains via shuttle or bus. Hamon has everything you need for an amazing ski trip to the Hakuba valley.

The most convenient location to reach Tsugaike slope. Great sound and selection of Hakuba craft beers from 1700 to 2200, place to hang around and chill with friends and family.

Fantastic accommodation with awesome staff and a lovely owner, Jerry.Rooms were extremely clean as were bathrooms.You could sign up the night before for dinner which was always delicious. Beautiful view from the main area.Lodge style and ski in ski out.Would highly recommend and we will be back!

Before I write a review, I would like to thank the staff. I visited Tskaike a little early in the season, so I know I was the only guest at the Lodge. Nonetheless, the breakfast and dinner served with care. The bathtub was always filled with warm water. Not only that, although I came by night bus and visited early in the morning, they were kind enough to take a rest and go to the ski resort. Especially, personally, I was very inexperienced in English and Japanese, so I communicated using a translator, and I was able to stay comfortable because of their consideration. The location of the accommodation is a little uphill climb from the bus stop, but it is not far. The tatami room with the bed I stayed in was spacious, and it was not cold when I turned on the heater. The small bathtub was great for the end of the day. The hot water was served without any problem. The meal was really delicious. I never regret choosing breakfast and dinner as this accommodation. It was really delicious. The staff kindly explained how to eat, and I liked it. They brought me to the entrance of Tsukaike Gondola every morning. Thank you. I really want to visit here next time. Next time I visit, I will visit you with improved language skills. Thank you.

Fantastic location, service, food and crew!Hamon has the laid back vibe you are looking for when going skiing in Japan, combined with clean and nice facilities, and an amazing on-slope location in Tsugaike. The hotel has a really nice onsen which is good for sore legs are skiing, and the breakfast/dinner/bar area looks straight out on the slopes and mountain range. It literally takes you 5 secobds to access the slope from the hotel. The hotel crew, managed by the super helpful Jerry, was also helping us with all the details around airport transport, skiing equipment, and local restaurant bookings. As many of the locals in Hakuba have limited english speaking skills, this help made the whole trip go a lot smoother! Some evenings the hotel also serves their own dinners, which I can highly recommend - their hot pots is one of our best meals in Hakuba!
