I have loved every second of being here and, as I write this, I’m unwillingly packing my bag to leave tomorrow. It has been such a joy. It’s clean, the location is amazing and it’s so close to the ferry dock. The ease of doing everything has been so well taken care of by the owner. We let them know we wanted to rent bikes and they went ahead and did it for us so when we got to the house the bikes were there waiting (we paid on arrival so this could happen). It’s my first time sleeping on a futon on tatami mats and I love it! But you also have the option to sleep in a bed if you prefer.I’ve felt like a true local while being in Naoshima and I wish I could stay for another day, or two, or maybe a week. I highly recommend doing this.

I don't like guesthouses on Naoshima so this is the best.Although the house is shared, the rooms are independent, private, and cheap! ️There are convenience stores, places to eat, and even a public bath within walking distance.
