A guest house on a hill. You can see the sea from the living room and watch the ships passing by.As the name of Shimadabi Farm suggests, the meals are mainly based on vegetables, but they were not unsatisfying and were both healthy and tasty.Staying in a fine old private house on a remote island is an extraordinary experience, so I would like to visit again.

I didn't know what to expect and was very nervous, but I had a great time! If you are a foreigner like me and want to visit somewhere quiet and meet some locals, I highly recommend this place. It takes a while to travel from the major cities but you are able to get there with the Shinkansen to Marugame, and then take the ferry to Hiroshima Island.Shota speaks great English and was very accommodating and helpful! From helping me with my luggage to showing me around Kotohira! And It costs extra to have dinner, but his food is delicious! 😋Since I was the only guest, I felt very special to meet and hang out with some locals, even if my Japanese is bad. 😅 But all the people there were nice and patient with me! This was a one-of-a-kind experience I won't forget.Shota is interested in more foreigners coming, especially Americans like me. So please visit and stay at his hostel!

I stayed at Hotori twice. It's a very relaxing and nice place.Mr. Karasaki is polite and fun to talk to, and he knows a lot about the island. Take a bath in the Goemon bath! They make a fire with wood and the hot bath feels great. And the breakfast is also wonderful. The carefully selected ingredients and beautiful-looking plates will make you excited from the morning.I sleep on tatami mats with futons, and the futons are fluffy and very comfortable.

I visited for the first time in 2 years!“If you go here, you will find a place where you can relax.”This is the kind of inn and host that makes you feel that way.The rice is made with vegetables grown on the island, making it a ``slightly luxurious'' home-cooked meal. The bath is heated with firewood and warms you from the core.“I want to relax and take it easy” “I want to experience island life”This accommodation is recommended for those people.I'll be back!

This inn is also recommended for solo travelers. We had a really fun time listening to our hosts talk about what they had learned in the past, travel, agriculture, and many other things while enjoying delicious home-cooked meals.I stayed there because I was interested in chili peppers, but perhaps the most interesting thing was the host.I was the only guest staying, but they kept a reasonable distance from me, so I was able to relax and feel at ease, as if I were at a close relative's house. Also, I was a little concerned about it before I visited because it was an old private house, but I was relieved to see that the toilet had been renovated into a beautiful Western-style one.Other than the toilets, everything was kept clean.Staying with a host who is still young. The current state of the inn is very nice, but I'm sure it will continue to grow together with the hosts. What kind of accommodation will it be from now on? This is an inn that will give you such pleasure.Next time, I would like to have a relaxing time with some delicious sake.

It was the best accommodation where I could regain my sense of time.Whether you do something or not is up to you. It's a perfect inn for an island that hasn't become a tourist destination in a good way! There are no clocks or televisions, so I go to bed when it gets dark and I feel sleepy. It helped me reset my sense of time. Also, if you have never taken a Goemon bath before, we highly recommend it!Of course, the owner is also a very nice person! I would love to visit again with my family and my kids!

I <3 this farmhouse! Everything is so sincere: the owner, the vibes, and the island. As a food lover and a farm-to-table-food lover, I was so satisfied while staying there ;-) The owner is very nice and friendly. He has a lot of interesting stories to share and he loves hearing stories from guests as well. Don't miss the sunset there - such a beautiful and peaceful moment indeed!

It was a lovely stay! I and my friends stayed there for 1 night. We wish we can stay there longer. The home cooked food was very delicious and the traditional onsen with firewood was really relaxing. Love the view of the ocean and all the lovely flowers there! Will definitely go back!:)

This inn is recommended for everyone who is tired of sightseeing. It was the ultimate luxury to lie down and look out at the ocean from a room on a hill.Boiling a Goemon bath with firewood that you have collected yourself, making Turkish-style pizza from the dough (the ingredients are vegetables made by the host), and enjoying conversation while sitting around the table with the host will add to the charm of your trip. .The wonderful experience of ``peeking'' into the host's daily life will be completely different from your usual sightseeing. One night and two days is still not enough, so I would like to visit again to relax.
